scuba diving at epcot

anyone know the differecr between dive quest and ateh aqua seas tour.

any help would be great..

DiveQuest is an actual SCUBA dive, you have to be certified before you can do it. AquaSeas is SNUBA, you don't have to be certified and are just connected by a long air hose to the tank that stays above water.

Slight correction. The EPCOT Aqua Seas tour is in fact a snorkeling only tour. But you are not connected by a long hose. You actually are wearing a tank, mask, fins, and are breathing from a regulator in your mouth just like scuba divers do. You have a floatation device on that prevents you from going down in the water at all. It's a great tour and lot's of fun!! You can see the fish, people watching you behind the glass, sharks, turtles, Coral Reef diners, and the coral (simulated) reefs very clearly. The 35ft deep, 6 million gallon tank is a super fun place to play.

I had folks with me that had scuba dived and some that had only snorkeled. And one that had never snorkeled or scuba dived. Everyone had a wonderful time! The non-snorkeler used considerably more of his tank air than all the rest of us. He was breathing much faster and trying to get used to the brain rule that says "you can't breathe while underwater". He came out with 500psi of air out of his 3,000psi tank. I ended the 30 min with 1,800psi left in my tank.

If you have ever snorkled or scuba dive you'll feel very comfortable. If you haven't, you might feel slightly nervous at first but the instructors will work with you until you feel comfortable. And if you want to relax a minute you just tilt your head back and poof you are out of the water solidly floating at ALL times. The water will seem a little cool too but you'll have a wet suit on that'll help keep you warm.

Thanks for straightening me out! The descriptions of this that I've seen weren't very clear, and my dh has only done DiveQuest so I wasn't sure about SNUBA....I gave the explanation that he did, lol!
