Oh boy, we were leaving for the day and as housekeeping came I gave her what I thought was $5 and $1, just asked for fresh towels and supplies. Later to pay for lunch I looked for my $50 and it is not here....:scared1: Just 2 $5's

No wonder she went, OH Thank You:confused3 Yesterday she left the gratuity behind,

Is it OK not to tip the rest of the week, We have two rooms connecting?

I would never ask for it back, but do not want to feel guilt not continuing to leave something....

Oh, those coming this weekend, bring your waterproof shoes, and ponchos.
I think the drought is over!

Wow, I don't know what I'd do in that situation.

Oh boy. I really do not know what I would do. :confused3 My fiance would not tip for the remainder of the days, if she is the mousekeeper. We would leave a note that we pre-tipped her. Think of it as it was meant to be, maybe she really needed money and that day her prayers were answered?
In the meantime, learn from the "mistake". Prepare for the next stay. I always plan ahead by printing envelopes for the days we will be at staying and seal the money in them.

I wouldn't tip again. She'll think its for the week and she'll take good care of you too, since you were so generous. Exciting for her.

I wouldn't leave anything for the rest of the week, but then again, I wouldn't have tipped housekeeping to begin with.

Well, you certainly MADE her day!:lmao:

I would not tip her rest of week, I am sure she realizes this!:thumbsup2
I would Never think to ask for $ back for the mistake.

You did a really nice thing, FEEL GOOD about it.princess:

ITA! Laugh about it and move on. :)

She should be set for the week. I'd just consider her paid in full, unless you get a different mousekeeper, then a few dollars would be considerate.

I accidentally gave $20 one time instead of $5. What made it worse was that I gave it to her in person, and realized almost immediately what I had done. There was no undoing the situation at that point. I just factored the $20 into her tip for the week.

Since tips stands for to insure prompt service, maybe she thinks that's what you're doing. Unless she does something spectacular, I think you've tipped enough.

I think you would be fine not tipping the rest of the week. Unless of course you get a different mousekeeper. If you do I would tip like you normally would.

:)

Oh wow, that sounds like something I would do. One of the reasons I don't carry cash around much...

Anyway, I agree with the rest, consider it her tip for the rest of the week. I'm sure you made her day! :goodvibes

I wouldn't tip for the rest of the week either unless you get a new person.

I guess what shocks me is that the mousekeeper didn't point out that you were handing over such a large bill.

OMG I'd die if I did that! I hope your having a great trip!

Disneymarie, I am really glad you made it down to WDW as I know how much a trip means to you. I hope you and your family are well and having a great time.

DH and I joke that we are both "break-eveners." If we do something nice, even by accident, it comes back to us. If we end up with found money, something will break. Either way, we end up about where we started.

I have done something similar and definitely didn't suffer in the least for it. Everything happens for a reason.

She got a nice tip, but you don't always have the same mousekeepers throughout your stay. I would not tip again whle I was there. I would probably leave a not saying youleft a $50 to be shared among all the mousekeepers cleaning the room. I could never ask to get it back. This woman may have needed $50 to stay in her home, keep her car, or pay a medical bill. This may not have been an accident after all.
