Screaming Means Fun: a disboutiquers trip report: Update Page 9!

Love your trip report! Sounds like you you had a great time other than the BC pool. I'm a worrier too when it comes to my kids so I fell your pain. I thought my kids would love SAB but now I don't think I would be able to stand it :) . Love the clothes you made your kids for the trip. I usually have to buy off ebay since I can't sew more than a button :lmao: . My DD loves the Marie dress.

Thank you! We really did have a great time, other than that one incident. Tell you daughter she'll have her own soon! ;)

Poor Jacob... It's so tough knowing your right and your sibling doesn't believe you, but I love his distraction method. It sounds like it was really cute! The Marie dress is to stinking cute... love it!

And thanks for the close up of Jacob's shirt from Animal Kingdom! he did a great job! :goodvibes Sorry I didn't see it earlier, but I really appreciate you putting it up!

Poor Jacob, I really try to be fair, but it's hard! Luckily he is very patient and sweet.

Yes, I'm on my Disney vacation and I'm reading your TR! I needed my Megan and Jacob fix. I just fell in love with your kids when we met you last week. :lovestruc They're the cutest, sweetest kids! Jacob is hilarious and kept us all entertained. I hope Megan didn't mind having both of her hands held (one by Tessa, one by Lydia) all day! It was so great spending the day with you. You're pretty great, too!

Awww! Thanks for checking in! Megan loved having her hands held, and was begging to go to Animal Kingdom the next day for more! Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Cranky and Spanky! :rotfl2:

WE just go with scourge and pestilence, ourselves....:rolleyes1

I'm glad your meal went well!! Megan looks so cute in her Marie dress!!

Tour-Guide-Jake. :rotfl2:

That could really be applied to the parents as well as the kids! :rotfl: Disney really wears me out!

Love LOVE LOVE that chapter!!! Sooo darling!!!

It's a kick in the pants how your Jacob and my Sally are SO concerned with rightness and are rather annoyed when confirmation of said rightness is not immediately given by any grown up in the vicinity!!

Teddy too gets away with MURDER b/c he is so darn cute...lately the smart mouth responses and snarky tone are outweighing the cuteness.

The roasting marshmallows looked fun!!! I don't know if I'd have been able to party with the money for the snacks though b/c Sally and Teddy won't touch s'mores either! They LOVE to roast marshmallows for their daddy and me, but wouldn't dare to eat something that had been "licked by fire!":confused3

I LOVE Megan's Marie dress!! LOVE IT!! The Beach Club looks fun. I've always wanted to stay there! I didn't know it was so close to the Swan!! I have always wanted to check that place out too!!

I am just living vicariously through y'all with every chapter!!!!

can't wait for more!!!:goodvibes

The Beach Club is fun! You can walk to the Boardwalk, the Swan and Dolphin, but more importantly, Epcot! We really love it.

Poor Sally and Jacob, at least they don't take it out on their younger siblings (too much).

This statement made me laugh!

I completely understand having a favorite park "outfit-wise."

I'm really enjoying reading about your family's experiences.

Well, outfits are important too! :rotfl: At least they are now that I have discovered the disboutiquers!

Thanks for all the comments on the Marie jumper, I really wish I had bought more fabric, I used every square inch of it!

UPDATE: Magic Kingdom

So for our last full day, we headed off to the Magic Kingdom. Megan and I went to the Barber Shop to get gelled and glittered and the boys went to get a fast pass to the thunder mountain railroad. I am sure they stopped by the shooting arcade on the way. Tip: a cast member fills the guns at the shooting arcade with credits right when they open the park, so stop by and play for free!

Anyway, isn't she cute?

IMG_0371.jpg

Poor Jacob, people were stopping us left and right to comment on how cute Megan is. He finally asked if they did boys at the Barber Shop and we told him yes and we always ask him if he wants to go, remember? After a little pouting, he decided he will go next time. Ok!

We went to the Haunted Mansion because we missed it the first day. Here is my favorite tombstone:

IMG_0373.jpg

After that we hit Pirates on the way back to thunder mountain.

IMG_0376-1.jpg

We went back at did thunder mountain and Megan vetoed splash mountain because she did not want to mess up her hair!

After that, I don't remember what the boys did, but Megan and I went to story time with Belle. Not to speak ill of a princess, but doesn't Belle look orange?

IMG_0384.jpg

It's a good thing Tom didn't see her; he has very high standards of princess beauty and I'm afraid this Belle wouldn't have made the cut. One time we went to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid and he would not shut about how not beautiful Ariel was! I was ready to kick him!

Anyway, we went to Cosmic Ray's for lunch. It was getting to be a madhouse at that point, they wouldn't even let us sit down while Tom was fetching the food. So we had to stand around the crowded line area while he got the food. I was not pleased. Sonny Eclipse was cute as always:

IMG_0388.jpg

After that, we got the heck out of there. If there's one thing spoiled native Floridians can't abide, it is a crowded park with rude cast members!

It was the last day for the pool, so I ambled down and took pictures.

IMG_0393.jpg

The vortex of death!

IMG_0397.jpg

You'll notice the hair that we had to skip Splash Mountain to avoid getting messed up is quite wet! I told her to swim with her head above the water but she was not having it.

We had reservations at Hollywood and Vine for dinner so we headed over to MGM (oops, Hollywood Studios or whatever they call it).

We wanted to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid and while we were in line, someone asked Jacob if he would help with the show. He looked like he was asked to donate a limb and said, no thank you! Megan piped up that she would love to help and we were ushered to the front of the holding area and she got to announce "Welcome to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid" and got a nice certificate. I think she was hoping to get to meet Ariel, but was pretty pleased anyway. Oh, and Tom commented that Ariel was pretty and sang great. Whew! ;)

While we were waiting to be seated for dinner Jacob read Megan the map. This is a moment I try to catch so I can tell Jacob what a good brother he is; it just makes my heart melt.

IMG_0399.jpg

Upon entering the park, Megan announced that she would like to try Tower of Terror. There was lots of screaming on that ride, so it must be a whole lotta fun! Tom was a little skeptical but got a fast pass before dinner so she could try it. Jacob worried the whole time and tried to talk her out of it. People are screaming because it is so scary, he told her. As usual she ignored her brother. I listened to him: I didn't ride it! :rotfl:

So after dinner (which is such a waste of money because buffets are not the optimal eating environment for my little birds but we do it anyway to try something new, cough!) they headed off to the screaming and Jacob and I went to the animation place. I love that little movie with Mushu (boring! says Jacob) and we both love the interactive games at the end of the tour. I think it is funny how Jacob takes the quiz and changes his answers until he gets the character he wants to be. I am Belle, of course. princess:

Megan and Tom came in and announced that Megan was the bravest five year old in all of Orlando! He said she got a lot of attention in the line, people couldn't believe she was so excited about riding it. During the ride she was less excited, but she doesn't appear to be too traumatized, so success! They also reported that is was raining and we were supposed to go to Fantasmic later! :scared: We hoped it wouldn't be canceled.

Mickey was there and we hadn't seen him all week so Megan and I jumped in line. Ugh, the line was long and the kids around us were not well-behaved. We finally made it up there and then Mickey took a break. Finally he came back!

IMG_0403.jpg

So we went to sit out in the rain for Fantasmic. I brought jackets, but we were still getting soaked. A lady behind us lent Megan her daughter's rain jacket (they all had ponchos), which was so nice.

IMG_0406.jpg

The show was meh. The kids enjoyed it, but even Jacob thought there was too much movie against the water and not enough action. There were princesses, so Megan was happy.

We took our waterlogged butts back to the Beach Club and went straight to bed. Tomorrow we were going home! :sad1:

Great update! yes, Belle does look orange - yuk, LOL!!

I LOVE your DD's hair from the Barber Shop!! I'm not big on the BBB look, so I've been planning to just do up DD myself on the day we have lunch at CRT. But seeing this.... couple questions if you don't mind? Did you put her hair up in the ponytail first? And then they added the glitter and gel? Did you go right at rope drop? Was there a wait? And how long did it take (I'd think not long) and the cost? Sorry for the barrage, thanks for any help!

Your kids are SUPER cute!

Thanks for reading!

We got there shortly after the rope drop, maybe 5 after 9am. There were two families in the barber shop when we got there; we had to wait about 15 minutes. I think anything later is probably a 45+ wait so we really try to get there early. They did everything: put her hair in a bun, spiked it out and asked what color gel and decorated her head. I think it was $14? Cheaper than BBB for sure. We have done it several times and have always been very pleased with the results. Oh, it took about 10 minutes. Probably the longest part was her deciding what color (it's always pink but she has to look at all of them).

Okay seriously...favorite line EVER in a trip report...

"The show was "MEH""...:rotfl2: :lmao:

That is the GREATEST onomatopoeic interpretation of a noise I make in response to how was a show that was just okay...

I'm still laughing...and I sound like a sea lion b/c I'm sick...but I'm laughing anyway!

I am SO proud of Megan for riding ToT!!! What a brave girl!!! Teddy will be first in line for that one! I do worry that once we are on the ride he'll have second thoughts, but I bet he can handle it!! Sally would probably need therapy for the REST of her life.

I still might make her go on it...

cuz I'm wicked...

As usual, Megan's customs are FABULOUS!! I love love the Tink outfit!!! The glitter was a nice touch!!! Your babies are so beautiful!!

I may be rethinking the BBB thing for Sally...she's not so in to having her hair pulled back tightly. She always fusses about "pony tails" hurting her head after a while. The barbershop may be the perfect compromise...and for $14...I don't care if she rips it out after an hour! for $50+ she may be wearing it until she's married!

does the barbershop take reservations or are they first come first served type of place...I'll bet that's why they don't charge an arm and a leg!

Brilliant writing my darling!! Absolutely BRILLIANT!!

and SCORE on keeping dry!!! Somebody has to take the pictures!!:flower3:

Thanks for answering those questions. I was thinking of doing this for Jenna one day. I'm sure she will end up with Pink too because it is also her favorite and she picks pink the same way that Megan does. :)

You're so funny, even when you are sick!

That's exactly what Tom and I said to each when it was over. Maybe because it was raining and we were wet and miserable and the kids were wet and miserable but it just wan't that great!

I have already been seriously considering socking some away for Jacob's therapy bills! Such a sweet sensitive boy doesn't deserve a family that makes fun of him.

The barber shop is first come, first serve and even when we get there right at 9 there seems to be a short wait, so I imagine the later you go the wait is horrendous.

Thank you for the compliments, I've learned from the best!

Aww, little cyber twins! Seriously, people were stopping us all day long to tell her how cute she was. I think it was the combo of the custom with the fancy hair, Jenna will love it!

I haven't even checked the disboutique board while more than once while on vacation, but I'm reading your TR again! I love Megan's hair, it looks so pretty! I love the picture of Jacob reading to Megan, too. Arminda's sweet like that too. :rolleyes1

We haven't got to see Fantasmic yet and we probably won't. I'm glad to hear it's just MEH. :rotfl: But, did you know that I am an aquaintance of the guy who runs that show (he presses the button that starts it all)? He even helped wire my house for sound! Aren't I cool?

I'm glad Megan enjoyed having her hands held by our girls. ;) Tessa was pretty dissapointed that she didn't get to sit next to Megan the next day. :sad2:

Loved the update! Megans's hair looks adorable and I love her outfits like always. I forbid Kaylee to get her hair wet in the pool after BBB and she listened for once. I might have to take them to the Barber shop next trip. Yes Belle does look a bit orange. I don't think she fits the part too well either. Sorry about Cosmic Ray's being so jammed packed.
Too funny that Jacob tried to talk Megan out of TOT. I have been on it only once and that was enough ;) . I agree with you Fantasmic is just alright. I love Wishes and Spectro and like Illumintaions much better.

Thanks so much for the info!! That's a really good deal for $14, especially since they did the whole thing!!! I think we'll definitely try to do this at rope drop on our CRT lunch day. And I'm sure my DD will do the same thing with the colors, LOL!! Thank you!

That's how I feel about BBB, it just looks so tight! I think Megan's hair looks so much prettier than anything I've seen out of BBB - just my opinion! We watched the Disney show on the Travel Channel and at first DD was in Total AWE of BBB. I was like, OK, I"m going to have to suck it up and do it. Then she realized she already has the dresses, she likes me doing her nails AND she alone came out with the statement that the hair looks too tight like it would hurt. So...Barber Shop here we come, LOL!!

Great installment Steph!!! I think Belle looks really orange in your picture too. Megan looks so pretty with her hair all glitterered up! Jacob is such a sweet heart, and as Heather has said, he reminds me a lot of Arminda. ;)

I agree, I don't like Fantasmic much either. Which, I just realized this year. I'd seen it twice before, but both times I had little kids to tend to and missed a lot of it. This time I saw the whole thing, and I just won't do it again.

I love that Megan wouldn't go on Splash Mountain, but went into the pool! She's such a funny little girl! :lovestruc

I have been on TOT once and it was enough for me too! We were on an adult only getaway while my parents stayed home and watched the kids. I told Tom I would go on TOT and RnR and after TOT I was so pale he didn't make me go on the coaster. I think he appreciated me trying!

We have done it three times and it has been different each time and cute always. We did the BBB and it was cute too, and they give you little accessories but I do like that I am not flipping out if she messes it up: it was only $14!

1) Thank you! I signed up Jacob with an account today, he wants to send messages to Arminda. :lovestruc

2) We don't do a lot of night time entertainment because Megan will not sleep in under any circumstances so I really want it to be great when we do, and it just wasn't!

3) Yes, she's a joy! :rotfl:

Great report, Steph! I love getting to see your cute outfits at WDW! I'm not a big fan of glitter but Megan's hair was adorable! What a great big brother she has too. My brother convinced me to ride the roller coasters and your sweet boy is trying to protect her, but I'm kind of proud of her for thinking they're fun! I was kind of grateful for my brother guilting me into riding them with him. Then when I went places with friends all my big "chickeness" didn't show right through.

Thank you! He is a good brother; Megan does not know how good she has it. I am proud that they both tried it, but I think I know who will be a repeat rider and who will sit with me and wait! ;)

Well, I have our last day but I was debating on whether to add our little birthday trip in before the end. The problem is my mother bought Megan a digital camera that she used when my battery died but she has the plug to load the pictures in Tallahassee. I don't know why she thought she should keep it! So I will figure out what to do at some point (after no one is interested anymore, probably, lol).

Do you have a cord from another camera? It should work. I think Corey calls that one a mini USB. I don't know, but I do know that the cord from some of our other cameras works with it!

I have the PERFECT solution if you haven't figured one out yet. Have the kids bring the cord back with them when they come home from your parents house. I know that is ten days away but heck that is better than eleven days, right. (Yes...I am being selfish and I just want to see the rest of your trip pics).

Ohhh and I vote for DEFINITELY adding the birthday trip in before you end this as well.:goodvibes

Oh yes, an update would be LOVELY!!!

I could say what one person said on my trip report...

"Please work really hard to get this finished before August"...

 <--eyebrow arch

did that motivate you?

It made me want to get sassy and not put out another chapter for a MONTH.

I'm a brat that way.

::yes::

oh goodness it is a persnickety start to the day...hot as all get out here...nearly 100 and wicked steamy ick thunderstorming...

I'll bet y'all are WAY used to that sort of thing huh?

we are all very patiently waiting for a new update. With no pressure or time constraints to speak of.

we love and we support.

 :flower3:

:lmao:

okay enough procrastinating for me.

must go be official.

:surfweb: :cool1:

:surfweb: MORE PLEASE:surfweb: Oops I didn't mean to shout.

I would love to see the pictures from Megan's camera and hear about her birthday trip.::yes::
