Is there any way to repair scratched dvds? My kids are really tough on them and I have tons that won't work anymore. Can they be saved or should I just dump them?
On another note. How do you store your dvd and disc games? We need a system.
I have a scratch repairing gizmo that works for cd's and dvd's. I bought it on clearance at Target and it has been worth every cent and then some. My ds was very hard on discs when he was younger. I've only ever had one disc that I couldn't fix and that was one my dh loaned to some friends.
I don't know what to tell you about storing them. I still fight with the kids who are 16 and 12 and won't put discs back in their cases.
Toothpaste works if it is not the gel type. Traditional toothpaste is mildly abrasive and that is why it works. You can also buy plastic polish and or polishing compound from a store that sells car detailing stuff. Finally, you could get plastic polish from a store that does plexiglass fabrication.
Some stores have a machine to fix it for you for a small fee. Where I work for my second job, Hastings, does this. Also have used deodorant, since all we have is gel toothpaste, and it worked also.
