Has anyone started scrapping a trip while still working on a previous trip? Does that even make sense? :confused3

I'm stuck in a rut on our November 2008 trip, but I have a little inspiration for some of the pics from May 2009.

This is a stretch for me, as I tend to scrap chronologically anyway.....

Is there a way to make it work without getting everything mixed up? I don't have the pages from the 08 trip in an album yet.

Steph

I tend to have two or three projects going at once, but haven't done two WDW trips at once. I find that having multiple choices to work on helps keep me scrappin!

I keep my projects in the big 12x12 iris boxes to keep it straight. Hope this is helpful!

Happy Scrapping!

I think it is a good idea, as you are doing the embellishments for one, you could do for the other though I know I would get confused. Hard to believe that I can multi-task.:rotfl2:

I very often have 2 going at once. Right now I'm working on Alaska and its an incredibly beautiful place but I'm getting bored so today Im going to print DL photos to take a break from Alaska.
I too keep pages in Iris boxes until I find albums on sale.

I'm not sure multi-tasking is my strong suit either, not when it comes to scrapping!!! :rotfl:

I have two iris boxes, but they're cramed with paper. Sounds like I should invest in more!

I tmight try it while I have the inspiration for the May pics....what's the worst that can happen? If I mix up two WDW trips, it won't be the end of the world. ;) At least that would be pages that are DONE, right????

Steph

I just do one major project at a time, like our last Disney trip. And I do small event pages at the same time, like school plays and the such. But, just not enough talent to do two or more major books at the same time.

If it was me, i'd leave the photos I'm stuck on and do the photos I had energy around. Maybe to the point of making it a "Disney" Album and not a trip one trip two albums. There are probably quite a few synchronicities between the photos you took on the two different trips.

I also use Iris totes to keep albums 'in the works' separated. In 2007, I took 4 trips to DW. I scrapped the trips all the next year, working on whichever I had an idea for a layout. I also used lots of premade pages from the completed page swap! (Thanks girls!)
The trips were very different, so that helped to keep them separate and I could scrap them in different styles, althought some of the pages looked similiar. I did 2 albums chronologically, one by park, and the other one was a girls only Christmas trip- it is random, but I like it! Food, lights, trees, resorts, etc.
I say scrap the ones that you have ideas for and maybe that will get your creativity going for the ones that have you stuck.
The most confusing part was my memory! The Iris cases and a different box for photos and memorabilia, kept each trip separate
Also, I get hung up on each page needing to be a masterpiece.........I'm trying to realize it is the memory I want to capture, not the perfect embellishment, paper, etc. So, some of my latest pages have just photos and journaling, I may later go back and be creative, but for now, at least I have the memory written down.

Yes I have scrapped 2 albums at once. And I'm considering doing my 3 December trips together too. Then I can have all the papers and embellishments handy and get it all done at once. I just need to figure out how to be organized.

If you have inspiration for your May trip do it now! I was in a rut from our first trip to WDW and I got so frustrated it took me 2 1/2 years to scrap it. I did finally push through and get it done but I'm not thrilled with the results. I wish I had just put it away for a bit.

Oh and I write all the dates down on the backs of the pics and when I finish the page I write the dates down on the back of the paper. So if it's not going right into an album it won't get mixed up.

For the Oct 2005 trip I'm doing chronological so I wrote say Day 2 15-20(pic numbers) so I know which order they go in when I do get them in an album.

Thanks for all the ideas! The trips were only six months apart, but the November one we focused on the Christmas activities, and the May one is chock full of Star Wars. We've done six trips in six years, and I'm running out of ideas. I do work on my family album occasionally too, when I get in too much of a rut.

I have only done 1 Disney trip at a time hence me being behind LOL

I get stuck in a rut all the time while working on my Disney trips so I work on other projects.

Last year I worked on Disney 2006 CRUISE, Disney 2007 TRIP and all the Holiday layouts I needed to catch up on (Did 76 pages of those LOL)

I spent the weekend at a crop last weekend and did both of my 2009 Disney trips. Started out OK and then I started getting confused about what trip I was doing.

Sorry to hi-jack- but I really want to see your Alaska pages when you are done- can you post them. We are doing a huge family Alaskan cruise next year there- and I really want to see. If you can. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I could definitely see a combined album with two chapters -Our Disney Trips
Chapter 1 Focus on Christmas and
Chapter 2 Focus on Star Wars.

I always scrap chronologically. I have been scraping almost thirteen years. My DD turns 13 in Nov and I started when I was pregnant. You can start with my first book and watch her grow up. I am almost finished with our second disney trip and then I will have a few every day events and then I will start our first Disney Cruise. I am starting to get a little bored with just doing Disney, but hopefully the little break between the two will help.

I'm scrapping 3 Disney trips right now. I didn't have my Cricut when we took our first trip so I'm tying to stick with purchased embellishments for that album. I don't think I'll ever be done with any of them.
