Scrapper Limitations

I've only been actively pin trading for about 2 years (collecting for about 10) but it seems to me that one good way to avoid scrappers is to collect pins with special elements. The ones I've noticed are the most copied are also the easiest to replicate. I've never seen a pin-on-pin scrapper, a 3D pin scrapper, or a scrapper with a hinge or spinner element. It seems like all the scrappers are flat pins with no special elements. Is this basically true?

Generally yes, altho I have seen some pin on pin that were questionable.
