To those of you that went to the Expo...what did you get????

I found all kinds of great stuff, and of course, spent way too much...I had my daughter (aka. the Enabler) with me. I bought two of those really cute license plate scrapbooks (one pink Disney Princess one for my daughter and one for a friend that just got back from Hawaii), some hand-painted papers, some embellishments, and this really cool embossing kit with gels, chalks, etc. I bought some other things, but I just can't think of what they were off the top of my head. I had a blast at the Expo and now I wonder why it took me so many years to attend it!

Happy to hear you had so much fun, I'm planning on going to the Sacramento one in November. Can't wait, will be my first one. Did you do any classes or make & takes?

Thanks for any info and tips.

Lisa

I was there from 10am-11:30am. I spent $120 and that includes getting 2 people into the expo with the coupons.
I spent
15 at the little davis booth
5 on Disney and pirate stuff at the scrapbook outlet booth
12 on 2 Creative Memory tools
2 on a paper holder
and my big purchase
80 on the Bind it all System. I had been wanting one and seeing it at the Expo just sold me. I don't know if they'll have any left for Saturday. They only had 20 for the weekend. I even got the dvd and 1 set of each 5 colors. I couldn't pass that up.

Overall I wasn't impressed. I don't buy kits, and I was looking for more produts. I didn't see a Making Memories booth this year. I didn't see the booth that sold eyelets by the cup or slide mounts.

If you can't get a bind-it-all this weekend. I did hear that Archiver's will be carrying it. It's a great tool. I'm making 4 autograph books for my December trip.

No, I didn't do any make and takes or classes. It looked like there were pretty big crowds around the make and takes, so we didn't bother with any of that.

I'm not sure how crowded the Expo was early in the morning, but we didn't get there until about 1:30 (terrible Atlanta traffic!) and so most of the booths weren't too bad. There was an area in the back with die cuts for $1.00 that was packed out, and also the hand painted paper booth was crowded too. We were pretty much done shopping by 3:00. So my only tip would be that if you are only going to shop, you might want to consider getting there a little bit later in the day to avoid the crowds.

Where did you get the coupons (just so I know for next year)?

Is that the one that they were selling in the booth with the Stencil Collection stuff...it looked really cool.

Yeah, I was very surprised at how many kits they had. I never buy kits (although I might scraplift an idea or two from seeing them. LOL!)

I got mine at the scrapbook clearance center in Kennesaw, on the scrapbook expo website they list stores that give out the coupons. I know the Atlanta Scrapbook Connection gives them out as well(and are closer to me, but not very good). The only store I know of that doesn't give them out are Archiver's.

I was there yesterday with several friends. We arrived early, shopped a lot, did a few make-and takes, and spent way to much money.
I did not buy any of the big items, but my friend got the mosic picture kits thing- I can not wait to use that at our next retreat.

Next year, I'm going to get there early and only do make and takes until I have done everything and them shop.

Oh my gosh!!!! Where is the Clearance Center in Kennesaw??? I spent my entire day up in Kennesaw today helping my daughter move out of her dorm at KSU. They make them move out for a couple of weeks before they can move into their new dorm room...it's a major pain! If I had time, I planned to go by the new Archivers on Barrett Parkway, but it took forever to get everything moved out and put in the storage unit...and we have more to move next Sunday! Ugh! Is the Clearance Center worth going to?

It's full of stickers and papers that are years old. Sometimes I find something good. Karen Foster Fold-in-Go recently. Everything in the store is 1/2 off. It's right next to Town Center mall (behind the Applebee's) and about 1/4 of a mile away from Archivers.

Is that the thing that was a picture made up of a bunch of cubes? My daughter wanted me to buy that, but I had already spent enough!

YEs, it is. I thought it was cool but not for $60. My friend got it and I get to use it as we alway scrap together. I have a cricut, that I let her use, so I guess it's an even swap of cool tools.

I'll have to check it out when I am back up there next weekend. I don't use stickers all that much anymore, but I might find some papers I can use. Thanks for the info.
