Well... before you can decide what type of storage system you need, you have to decide HOW you are going to organize. By brand? By type? By season/holiday? After you figure out what works best for you in that regard, it will be easier to determine what type of storage you need.
For MOST of my storage, I am currently using 12 x 12 plastic Sterilite drawer (many, many of them!). They hold the larger sticker sheets, plus they hold 12 x 12 paper. I have them divided by season/holiday. I keep my cardstock and solid paper sorted by ROYGBIV in upright boxes (repurposed priority mail boxes) right next to my scraptable. Patterned paper is stored by main color in 12 x 12 drawers. Specific themed stickers, and embellishments are sorted by season/holiday, etc and each has a 12 x 12 drawer.(Winter/Christmas/Valentine's Day, Spring/Easter, Summer/Vacation/July 4th, Fall/Halloween/T.giving, Boy, Girl, Travel, Vintage/Heritage, School/Sports... these are the majority of my categories.)
Then I have a 12 x 12 drawer each for other majority categories like alphabet rub-ons, alphabet stickers, die cut alphabets, rubber stamp alphabets, other rubber stamps, tags and slide mounts, brads and eyelets, small punches, small Disney misc, adhesives.
I have a few sets of larger drawers also that hold my larger punches (circles, squares, borders), my Sizzix dies and alphabets, patterned paper scraps, all other Disney (stickers, papers etc...I had SO much they needed a larger drawer than 12 x 12 !!), and other tools.
I keep a spinning utensil holder on my work table with most of my pencils, pens, markers, scissors, rulers, Un-du, Xacto knives, tweezers, etc.
I have also recently started sorting my scraps by ROYGBIV color in their own 12 x 12 drawer, but for all of these previous years (I've been scrapping the "modern" way since 1995) I just kept ONE LARGE scrapdrawer... it worked but I rarely used my scrap efficiently and effectively.
Anyhow, not sure any of this rambling will help you. Good luck..........P
