Our last trip to the Fort was back in November 2020 for Thanksgiving. We were going to take a break from the Fort for a while, but...
Since then, we lost our Great Pyrenees Duke, my oldest son was hospitalized with staph cellulitis and came close to going septic and losing his leg (he’s okay now). We lost my mother in law a few weeks ago. We were really in need of a get away and some fun times.
We booked the Fort for 3/25-3/28 but then decided to come in on the 24th instead. And then I went and broke my toe on Sunday 3/21. The doc said it was a complete break with displacement, it had to be set and Buddy taped. She put me in a shoe cast until I can get to a foot and ankle doc. I wasn’t letting anything keep me from a much needed get away, so I went online and booked a scooter.
When check in day finally arrived, I had to work, so DH drove over Wednesday morning and got the camper set up. I came over with the dogs and one of my sons in the evening.
This is Bo’s first time camping with us and he was a little nervous but I think he’ll love it.

Here’s a pic of my ride for the next few days.

I noticed some work was being done on the fire pits.
