Hey everyone!

Just wondering if anyone else is planning to participate in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. It's on September 28th (Sunday). I'm planning on registering for the half (as long as it's okay with my PT). There's more info on the link below:

http://www.torontowaterfrontmarathon.com/

So far I know that Hockeychic, her DS and DH are going and Smileyk8 might be going.

Anyone else? :cheer2:

Mike, Kevin and I will definatley be there. Kevin (DS) and I will be doing the 1/2. Mike hasn't decided if he is doing the 1/2 or the full. He is having some heel problems right now and hasn't been able to train but he will decide which one in the next week or two.

Come up to Canada all!!!! Very flat course also.

i've just sent you a message, but i'll post to- i'm registered for the half!!! Can't believe i've done it and my oh so supportive family just think i'm crazy:upsidedow , maybe they're right :rotfl:

Do people wear WISH shirts to non-disney events?

Wahoooo AWESOME!!!!

That is quite the distance to come from the UK. How long will you be here for???? What else are you planning to see?

I wear my WISH shirt to every event I do. I get so many positive comments on it.

Wow this is great we can have a little mini wish meet!!!!

i know, there aren't many appealing races around here (the fact that it's flat is such a pull for me!) and i've always wanted to go to toronto... it all just came together really.

We haven't booked yet but i'm thinking could be there for 5days or so, maybe arrive thurs before and leave tues after. Also noticed that Dirty Dancing is on at the theatre so that's a possibilty. Overall a bit of sight seeing and any recommendations would def be welcomed.

WISH shirt it is then!

Actually I am always surprised that Toronto is a fairly big city and I don't think it has alot to offer.

There is the CN Tower, ROM, hockey hall of fame:rolleyes1 , Casa Loma. Really I can't think of anything else. Hopefully Vicky can chime in here. I live about 45 north of Toronto and really don't get into the city very often.

I would love to see Dirty Dancing.

Did the half last year. Still can't decide. Price increases on Tues. I need to make up my mind.
Debating between this race or Port Perry Half.

Sue they changed the medal this year apparently. I was very disappointed wiht last years medal. ( I am all about the bling);) But DH called and they toild him they had many complains and will change it for this year.

Soooooo join us, we have a little mini meet happenin'

:cheer2: Yay!! I'm glad to hear you're coming over Kate! So I guess I'd better register! Now I just have to get a WISH shirt :)

See I would tend to agree with you... I guess that's why I'm not in sales :rotfl: Actually there was some report recently about tourism in Toronto and it wasn't that great

Ummm.... I'm more about shopping and eating out. So for shopping, I would go to The Eaton Center, Yorkdale, Yorkville (if you have lots of $$). St. Lawrence Market is fun but it's more for groceries.

For sight seeing - CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Mueseum, Art Gallery of Ontario. I guess outside of the city there's Niagara Falls, 1,000 Islands Tour (Kingston), Algonquin Park for hiking or a changing of the leaves tour, casinos...

Oh, I guess I'd better think about this some more

Hmmmm....you people are infectious. I think I may sign up for the half in prep for a full. Darn you :lmao:

Yaaaaaaa, more people.!!!

DS and I just registered for the 1/2. I am also doing it in prep for the full in Jan that I have not yet registered for yet:headache:

We are waiting to see if DH's heel thingy clears up before he registers but DS and I are registered!!!!

Kim

i like that we're infectious amps, i wonder how many more WISHers we can capture! wa ha ha.

I sure am Hockeychic. I live in the west end of Mississauga in Streetsville. Gotta love all these local Wishers!

Btw, I just registered for the half for the waterfront run so I hope to see you all there! Good luck training everyone!

I registered for the half over the weekend! I'm working on getting DF to register too but I think he may not have time to train since he has a heavier work schedule. We'll see :)

This is great we are going to have a nice little group. Maybe we can plan a pre-Sunday meet, either at the expo or something like that. There are a few restaurants in close proximity to the Metro Convention Center. Lone Start, Loose Moose, Joe Badalli's.?? Any thoughts????

Yay Vicky! It'l be lovely to see you again.

It's so great that we're going to be a proper little group for the run. What finish times did you guys register for? I really didn't know so just estimated based on Minnie. I have no idea what we'll be upto while over there, in fact i'm not even sure who's coming with me yet! My mum's really eager to come, but i also have quite a new boyfriend who's a triathlete and is considering it (just not sure if it's too big a commitment this early on!). I'd love to catch up before the run tho.

I'm totally up for any get together before or after the event (please remember to leave time to shower if it's for after the event :rotfl2:)

I registered to finish at 2:00:00. I'm hoping to fall below that after training this summer but will definately be in that range.

Then it better be before, I have no where to shower after:scared1: We are about 45 min north of the city. I was thinking expo day???? What does everyone think???
