Scored on Target gift cards! Glitch on flyer

Today's (4/28) Target flyer said that if you bought 1 3-pack of Crest toothpaste or a 3 + 1 pack of Oral B toothbrushes you got a $5 gift card. At first I didn't think too much about it, but then realized that the packs cost $5.99 and you got $5 back! When I went to the store, it was listed as 'buy 3 get a $5 card' so I asked about it and was told they knew about the glitch and the registers were set up to honor it.

I bought 8 packs of toothpaste and 1 toothbrush pack. I used my red card to get 5% back so my total was around $55 and I got $45 back in gift cards. Woohoo!!!!

Ours wouldn't honor the ad, there was a sign up that said it was a misprint though.

Just got back from my Target. Not even an issue getting a $5 gift card for EVERY 3 pack of toothpaste . Woo HOO!! I just scored $70 dollars worth of Disney gift cards!! I also had coupons for every 3 pqack of toothpaste I bought!

the ad doesn't say you have to buy 3.. our store has a homemade sign up that says limit 3 gift cards. The target sign by the actual product says $5 gc when you buy 3, but not the ad. AND when I checked out (bought one pack of crest and one pack of toothbrushes) it prompted her to give a gc for each 3-pack (one item).

Exactly as DisHokie said! You get a $5 gc for EVERY toothpaste/toothbrush pack. IOW, you spend $5.99 (minus any coupons or red card discounts) and get a $5 gift card. You get 3 tubes of Crest or Colgate for 99 cents or less AND a $5 gift card.

The ad was supposed to say gift card for buying 3 PACKS, but instead it just said "buy a 3-pack and get a $5 gift card." Our Target's registers are programmed to honor that.

I asked the manager if there was a limit and he kind of shrugged and said "whatever you feel is appropriate for your family," so I bought 8. It's a lot of toothpaste and brushes but hey, there are 6 of us! I also bought 3 items that qualified for a gc if purchased together so I had $45 in cards. With the red card discount, I was able to use the Target gc's to buy a $50 Disney card and only had to kick in a couple more bucks.

I went yesterday and bought 2 packs of toothpaste, 1 pack of toothbrushes and 1 listerine. Each of these even had signs by them that said something like "Get a $5 gift card when you purchase XYZ". There was no mention of having to buy 3. The register wasn't giving out the gift cards so the cashier asked the customer service lady who huffed and puffed and took $5 off for each item. So instead of $20 in gift cards she took $20 off my order which was fine with me.

I went to two different Targets and got the deals. I used the extra gift cards to buy other hygiene products they had on sale so I can donate all of it to several local homeless shelters and my sons middle school.

So they will let you use your gift card to buy Disney gift cards? I wish I didn't live so far away from a Target...but then again, it has probably saved me money in the long run!

I have been to a few different Targets and done this deal a bunch of times. All the registers are set up to honor this now. These are not located with the regular toothpaste/toothbrushes. In my stores they were in the back of the store with all the bulk items - most of mine had their own endcap. You can scan these at their scanners and the correct ones will scan at $5.99 and it will say "Get $5 Gift Card with purchase".

This worked at the Target in Neshminy PA. The girl at the register said "this seems like a mistake" every time the register told her to give me a gift card. I also bought extra to donate to a homeless shelter to spread the love!

My Target was completely out of the 3 packs of Crest toothpaste. I said something to the girl at the checkout, and she said someone earlier had come in and bought over 100 of them. She also told me the 2 packs of Colgate Optic White (the 5 oz tubes, not the 4 oz) would also work for the gift card. They ring up at 5.99, and each one gets you a $5 GC. I had some coupons for $1/2 and some for $1/1, so either free after GC or $0.50/2 pack. Either way, a great deal.
