I have been checking air fares for our spring break April 17 - 23 for weeks and becoming depressed about the prices almost $4000 for our family of 6. I basically gave up on flying out of Rochester and began checking Buffalo. The cheapest out of there was over 2,000. We decided to try Dulles and I just booked 54 dollars non stop each way. The total with the taxes and fees - 847.20. I know we will have to drive 7 hours, but I have family there and it will still cost less than the 2,000 to fly out of Buffalo. I really wanted to hang on until Southwest released their dates, but the prices have gone up every day and I was beginning to panic.

Just wanted to share with anyone who might be willing to drive to Dulles that they are great prices - not the best times, but good prices.

did you check any other airports en route? driving 400 miles to an airport seems a bit "extreme" even for a good fare! LOL!

Believe me I have tried every airport with in our area ... all outrageous and like I said we can stop and see my aunt and cousin. It is better than driving the 24 hours and for the money is worth it. I wish I could have stayed within an hour or 2 from home, but didn't work out.
