There are signs posted at both sides of DTD that bicycles are not allowed, along with all other wheeled apparatus (save
ECV's of course) There are bike racks at each end of DTD.
The pathways at SSR are also the paths for the Surrey Bikes. The trail to OKW is a Nature Trail that runs along the canal to POR and OKW.
SSR paths also intermingle with Golf Cart paths in spots, and a good bit of it runs along the main street.
At 7 she may be really nervous with all that happening around her. We rented bikes in Hilton Head over Mem. Day and you would have thought my 9 year old DS had never rode a bike before (he zips up and down or cul with ease) but he was pretty scared riding that 1 mile to the beach because of the cars and people on the path. We rode behind him the whole way. He shook and swerved the parts he did not push the bike.
He rode in the car on the way back, and my 30 year old niece had to ride his kiddie bike back

She looked like she was riding a clown bike, but DS wanted no parts of it!
Sorry to be such a downer, but I have never seen a child ride on anything at SSR, except an ECV, Surrey Bike, Bicycle, or shoulders
