Scooter rental in MK

I am planning to meet family in WDW for a long weekend. We will be going to MK, but have a brkfst res at Chef Mickey for 9:30am.
Does anyone know if I can take care of the paperwork/rental of a scooter at the park when it opens at 9 and actually pick it up after breakfast. I would wait until we all go to the park, but I am afraid that one will not be available.
I don't think I can walk the park all day and I don't want my difficulties to slow down our whole group.

Are you planning on using one for more than one day? When I went in February/March for 12 days we used Apple Scooter and they delivered to the resort and only cost me $230 for the entire trip. I had issues with the first scooter and they met me at DHS and brought me a new one. I am using them again in November. It costs to much to rent the scooters at the park. It is $70 a day.

akayek31, thanks for the info about the offsite rental. I only need the scooter for the one day. I am going to try and call Disney to see if I can get additional information.

Just in case anyone else wants to know.. you make the arrangements and leave and when you return you can pick up the scooter. Same thing if you do part of the day, leave and return to the same park, your scooter will still be available.
