Scooter parking areas in parks

Our trip is tomorrow so I'm asking this kind of last minute lol.. We have never rented a scooter before but my DH has been having issues with a bone spur and sciatica which cause him a lot of pain after walking longer distances, so we are thinking it may be good to have for this trip. I'm not even sure if we could still get one from a 3rd party since it is so late, but I'm trying to decide if it makes more sense to go with a 3rd party (if available) or just rent within the parks as needed. The thing is, he doesn't need a scooter all the time, only when his pain starts flaring up. So are there places in the parks to park scooters (kind of like the stroller parking) when you aren't using them? I've been several times but this is not something I've ever looked for. If there isn't, it may make more sense to just rent from Disney when he starts to need the scooter later in the day. With that option, do they ever run out of scooters throughout the day?

Yes, exactly this. It may (or may not) be in the same area as the strollers. A CM can direct you if you are unsure.

I recommend offsite. Contact some today, it may not be too late. The parks do run out of ECVs by mid/late morning so there is no telling what may be available (and charged!) by later in the day. A third party vendor will be less expensive as well.

Sorry your husband is experiencing pain -- good luck to him!

Also, renting off-site is generally cheaper. I remember the first time I rented a scooter, I rented at the parks. Later, I found out that it cost me the same for 3 days of park rental as it would have for 5 days of off-site, have the ECV all the time.

Also the park ones can’t leave the park. So if he is experiencing pain he would have to walk to the bus/car and may not get a seat

Besides stroller parking you can park where you won't interfere with the crowd traffic or parades and such. Just don't block entrances and exits anywhere.

Each ride has a temporary place to park a scooter. A few rides don't allow scooters and in that case you have the option of using a provided wheelchair or walk.

For parades and such you can use the handicap areas. For show attractions inside there are areas for scooters with the wheelchairs.
