Will I be able to take an ECV from WL to MK by boat in April? I have read before that it depends on the level of the water in the lake. Is there also a bus from WL to MK?

Yes, there is also a bus between WL and the MK bus station..

When I was at WL in October 2007, we took the boat ONCE and ONLY once from the MK to WL at night. We were able to board it with an ECV at the MK without problem (no comments of any sort from the CM on the boat other than telling me where on the boat to park the ECV). Unfortunately, when we got to WL, the boat was at a guess 3 to 6 inches below the dock level (we were NOT warned by the CM that it was a possibility and, not having boarded at WL originally, had no warnings). The CM recommended waiting til everyone who was getting off at WL disembarked first (we did) in case that would help raise the boat (it didn't). There was no ramp to help level the dock & boat, unlike the boat that runs between Epcot, DHS, & the hotels in the Epcot area. Ultimately, my wife & I had to lift the ECV ourselves from the boat & put it on the dock. As a result, my wife got hit in the head with part of the ECV, the CM was completely unhelpful, & we had a LONG chat with the Manager at WL.

The Manager COULD NOT have been nicer! He agreed completely that this should NOT have happened, and actually he was very surprised to find out that there wasn't a ramp to do this! He definitely was going to follow up on the issues and was NOT happy with how any of this was handled. Whether anything has come of this yet or not, I cannot say. I would say, however, you might be better off JUST using the bus instead of the boat, just to avoid even the possibility of getting to your destination & not being able to disembark. YMMV, so please don't take this as the "definitive" answer.

Enjoy the Magic, whatever you decide!

It is very possible that the CM had never put an ECV on or off and it didn't occur to him that it would not work. I would also guess that there was a ramp, but the CM had never used it and didn't know where to find it.

One thing I have noticed is that there are signs at the entrance to the dock at WL that say the boat may not be accessible for ECVs/wheelchairs. I have looked for a corresponding sign at MK and have not noticed one.
I don't know if they are assuming anyone taking the boat to WL had come from WL and would know it may not be accessible or what:confused3

when i was at WL with my wheelchair we loved the boat - and there was a ramp on both ends then... but i didnt have an ECV, so if there was no ramp, my dad would just help me off
