Going to be renting a scooter -- staying at WL. I know there is a boat to MK and CR. Can scooters be taken on the boat? Is there a bus to MK instead? What are my options for Epcot? Never had to use a scooter there before. Thanks.

Generally it is very difficult to use an ECV with one of the WL yachts. a lot depends on both the water level and the number of people on the boat.

So then is there bus transportation to MK or Epcot? I hope we haven't stayed at the wrong resort to use a scooter. Is there a list somewhere of transportation options with a scooter?

We have stayed at WL and used the boats with a wheelchair. The 'doorway' onto the boat is a little tight and there is a turn when you get on from what I remember.
Sometimes, if the water level is either too high or too low in the lake, the boat will be floating too high or too low to drive a scooter right on. The boat captains have various ways to deal with this, which might include a ramp, loading the other passengers first if they need the boat to be heavy and floating low in the water, loading the scooter first if the boat needs to be floating low or (my personal favorite) having all the passengers on the boat step to one side so the boat 'tilts' that way.

If you are not able to ride the boat with a scooter, there will be buses, so don't worry.

There was when we were there, but that was about 5 years ago (maybe) and I am pretty sure that it still runs. Even if there is not usually a bus, I do know that they run one for wheelchair access.

We were there last August, and took the boat no problem with a scooter. :moped: Don't have any info on the bus though, sorry.

During the construction at the MK bus stops the WL bus has been routed over to the TTC. I assume they're doing this to free up spaces at the MK bus stop and WL was moved because it has a boat to the MK.

My Mom did have a couple of rougher times getting her ECV on and off of the boat to the MK. I can just pop a wheelie and hop up over the 3 inch step that happened but my Mom had to get out of the ECV and have someone help lift it up over the step into the boat. Most of the time the boat was level enough but a couple of times she needed help.

There is an "official" direct bus from Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom. However, right now as a previous poster stated, due to some construction, that bus now runs to the Ticket and Transportation Center, where you can catch the ferry or monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

There is a direct bus to Epcot from Wilderness Lodge, or you can take the same TTC bus, then take the monorail to Epcot.
