Scoop on Ohana

...but we understand many are not fans of the way it is operated (kind of a hurried/frenzied pace) or are disappointed by the food.

I love the atmosphere and we are never intimidated by the pace of service. If we want to slow the pace of our meal we take control and set our dining pace; never allow yourself to feel rushed, you are the guest!

As for food, I understand the quality of food is not the same here as it would be on an a' la' carte based restaurant menu........it is an all you care to eat buffet without the physical buffet to walk up to. With that in mind, the food is not bad: flavors are good, quality of ingredients are good, variety of offerings is good, preparation of food is generally well executed. With the exception of the skewers of meat which can be all over the place with doneness, the food has always been good when viewed through the proper perspective. This place is a high volume buffet style restaurant with entertainment which makes this place more about the experience than the food in our collective opinion.

'Ohana tends to have 2 camps - we love it and we hate it

Go, experience it for yourself, then figure out where to pitch your tent!

I am sure my response will not be favorable, but we do not go there anymore. This use to be a MUST do place for every visit.(We go 3-4 times a year to WDW) Now this is on our list of a never do again. We started no enjoying this place 4 years ago. The food was either dry or too salty for us and extremely loud. I do not know her name, but the woman who comes out to entertain..her voice to me was like nails on a chalkboard. This is however one place that you can eat until your button to your pants becomes a deadly weapon. I do however everyone should go to experience this for yourself. I am judging my experiences compared to when we originally went and we found everyting to have gone down hill.

I know many people LOVE Ohana because it is still one of the harder places to get into. We just chose to go somewhere else.

We dinner twice at 'Ohana during our recent trip in August. We both loved it and we will be dining there again when we return next September.

Truth of the matter, we really didn't pay much attention to what others liked or disliked about 'Ohana. We wanted to experience it for ourselves. As much as we value the advice on the boards, it's been my experience that if you really interested in eating at a certain restaurant, you should just do it and make up your own mind.

We were at Ohana for dinner last Saturday evening. We had 7:15 ADR's and were seated about 7:30. Dinner was wonderful. We sat at a window seat, saw the castle change colors throughout the meal, and then saw Wishes while eating dessert. It was a lttle rushed, but as someone said, we were able to ask the server to wait a little bit before serving the next course. It was our first night there and an awesome way to start our vacation.
