Thanks to everyone for the continued support!! I've been slacking on getting to other peoples journals this week and appreciate you guys stopping by anyway.
Offtopic - random thoughts......is it just me or is this the worst final 2 in Apprentice history?......is it just me or is Taylor gonna be our next American Idol?....when wanting to get on an elevator, why do people stand right in front of the door when the ding goes off? Don't they realize that people may be getting off of the elevator first?
.....why do schools even open for the last week of the year? DD's last week consisted of art day, game day, awards day, movie day, absolutely no school work was even attempted so why bother?.....how in the world can meterologists even come close to predicting this years hurricane season when they can't get a 10-day outlook or even tomorrow's weather forecast accurately predicted?.....and finally, when a baseball hits the foul pole, why is it considered a fair ball/home run?
On to a short update today....
Monday May 22nd
Hard to believe it had been a week since I did a run thru the neighborhood, but the rest did me a ton of good. I felt good during the entire run and finished 4.0 miles in 45:09 (11:17 mpm, 180/163 HR). I did a 4r/1w again but ran extra on the downhills and walked extra on the big hill. As I mentioned, I really benefited from the extra rest last week....my body wasn't sore at all afterwards and my back has almost returned to normal.
Tuesday May 23rd
Watched American Idol while on the elliptical at the fitness center. I did 40 minutes (4.32 em, 9:16 mpm, 167/148 hr) and again felt really good during and afterwards. I weighed in at 213.0 which I was pretty pleased with since I'm having a difficult time with the whole healthy eating thing.
I spent some time on gmaps-pedometer today and really think that the course was marked incorrectly this past Saturday. The mile 1 marker was not really on the 1 mile mark, it was around the .7 point if I'm remembering right. This would explain the 7:30 split. It would put that first mile in the 9 minute range which is what I feel like I ran. The whole course looks like it was 3.1 miles so I think the overall time was right....it was just that mile 1 sign that was in error.
Almost Memorial Day weekend everyone!! Have a good day/week/weekend!
