Science Fair Ideas - Third Grade

A very simple one that caught my eye at last years fair was different methods of shining a penny. Vinegar, Lemon Juice, etc. It was very interesting even as an adult. The board was obviously done by the child and it had all the different pennies attached...very cool and cheap!

Any good ideas for third grade? Easy, not too costly, can't involve molds of any kind.

I keep thinking plants, but there has to be more than plants, lol.

haven't read the whole thread but what does your child want to do it on?
