I have booked the Sci Fi at DHS for the first time - never been there but had read that it was good. Now I only seem to be hearing negatives (typical!!) - has anyone anything to say on the place??

We went a couple of years ago. It's probably worth a visit for the experience. I mean where else can you eat in a drive in movie theatre? Our kids loved it. Our only complaint would be that the food wasn't much to write home about.

That's what I'd read about the food - hoping someone will say it's not too bad.

See we will be there at the same time - for Christmas :santa:

We have eaten there twice - first time the food was good, but the second time it wasn't that great at all! However, there is something about sitting in those cars whilst watching the movies that is making me want to do it again when we go next year! DH is not convinced though...

One of the guide books recommends just ordering dessert, which is not such a bad idea!

Ive been there before and thought the food was good :)

Hope you have a great meal there :wizard:

We are going to Disney for the 1st time in August and to be honest have read mixed reviews about just about everywhere we are eating ! Especially sci fi and coral reef. Im not letting them put me off anywhere, guess some will be better than others but looking forward to trying them all :)

I know what you mean - I really like CG - but others don't. Will give it a whirl and see how it goes :)

We enjoyed both the Sci Fi and Coral Reef. At the end of the day the Sci Fi isn't going to serve Michelin starred food but the atmosphere is great and we had a great time there.

The food is reasonable. It's the atmosphere you go for really. Can't say I was too impressed with the service but it might have been a one-off.

We went last December and have booked again for this October.

I think the best advice we have seen is stick to basics, we had burgers, cherry coke and a strawberry milkshake. All were very tasty and the atmosphere is very cool.

We've eaten lunch there several times and have really enjoyed it. We tend to still with things like onion rings, burgers, ribs etc. We ate dinner there once and didn't enjoy it at all, so we won't do that again. We love the atmosphere and go mostly for that, not the food! :goodvibes

It's the one place that we always go to. (5 visits in 4 trips.) We usually order the same thing each time but we enjoy it.

We've had bad service once in our 5 visits, but that can happen anywhere.

I agree ~ we had burgers and they were fine. :)

Know what, if someone had told me that one day I would pay to sit and watch black and white clips of 50s films I would never have believed them :lmao: but we loved it in here ~ it's a great atmosphere.

My 11 year old daughter chose the Sci-Fi Diner as her first choice for our holiday this August. We have visited on at least 4 or 5 occasions in the past and really enjoy it. The atmosphere in there is very different to all the other Disney restaurants. You will have a great time, particularly with it being your first visit.

We ate there in April this year.

DF wasn't too keen (too dark to see what he was eating, tho he said it tasted nice), two DS's loved it, I LOVED my veggie meal (one of the best on the trip, it tasted fantastic), but I found the movie soundtrack a little loud...

We all cleared our plates, and emptied our glasses, so it must have been OK!

I think if you stick to the burgers then you will really enjoy it! The milkshakes are also very good!

At the very least you should try it! Everyone has an opinion about everything so I wouldn't take their word for it!

Personally I think the Americans are little harder on their reviews than others. I think they are used to large portions and cheap prices so eating a Disney is probably not as good value for money to what they are used to.

I also think that what makes it special to me is its American atmosphere - I think the theming and menu may not be different enough for the American guests.
