Sci Fi

We have had several good meals here,I would stick to the burgers and shakes and you will be happy.Great themeing and the service we have had was good.We will go back and have a great burger and shake next trip.:) Danny

Been several times for lunch, been lucky to get decent service and all, but that's not always the case. Suggest you read the reviews, and the menus, decide if lunch or dinner works best for you. FWIW:

Atmosphere: kind of neat, retro drive in theme. The movie repeats movie and commercial clips from the 50s. You sit in "cars" with two people in front seat, two in back, so you are not facing your dining companions. And if you are a table for 2, you will possibly be sat with another group.
Food: limited menu with basic burgers, salad, sandwich. Shakes and stuff. Yes it is expensive for what it is but that's WDW. Agree with sticking to a burger or chicken sandwich (things hard to mess up), and you should be safe.

I just posted a review of Sci Fi in my dining report. The link is in my sig and it's on post #93 :)

We love the theming here as it's very unique and fun for all ages. The burgers and shakes. As long as you stick to the burgers, you will be fine. The other food is not so great. I had the worst meal of my entire life there in January when I got the turkey sandwich and side salad but it doesn't mean I think less of the SciFi. I still love it and will return, I'll just stick to the burgers.

We love Sci Fi! In fact we have been to WDW 8 times with three trips planned. Sci Fi is the one and only restaurant we have been to each of those times. I just called to make ADR's for our trip in April, even when we go on a budget, we have to go there! I just love the theming, the burgers and reubens are good and if we all get a shake, we can share a sandwich. Its not gourmet but we have always had great food and service.

I love the fact its very subdued in there. I think everyone is riveted to the screen, its such a nice break esp. on a hot day.

I don't like Sci-Fi. The atmosphere is excellent, but the food is below par, even on Disney standards. I must admit though, the milkshakes are very good! :)

Can you fit 2 adults in the front and 3 kids (9, 7 and 6) in the back of the car..? If not how do they accommodate a family of 5? :)

We dined at Sci-Fi with a family of 5 and they seated two people in the front and middle, and one person in the back, but I'm sure that three kids will fit in one row. :)

We loved Sci Fi when we went there -- the atmosphere is so cool and the clips are hysterically funny. We found the food to be fine, but we just stuck to the basics. It is definitely worth doing at least once.

Tell me about Sci-Fi.

I find the food to be totally unexciting. Not bad but nothing I can't get anywhere else, really. I have always had decent enough service, although the last time we went the waitress seemed like she couldn't wait untiil her shift was over, but she was nice enough to us.

Having said all that, we continue to go back every trip because of the atmostphere, which is really what you are paying for. I always have a good time in there and my kids love it!! I bring a light sweater. If you are the type to get cold in restaurants, like I am, then you should bring a sweater especially if you are wearing something sleeveless. I went in August and still needed one.

As mentioned above the food is nothing great but a neat place to dine at once. I did not think that they made the food bad, but that it was nothing more than I could get at TGI Fridays, or Ruby Tuesdays at home.
