We've never eaten there, but it sounded fun. But today I saw some pictures and it made me wonder if it's really set up for a family with little ones. Anybody have opinions/experience about it?

My youngest was 3 the first time we went to Sci-Fi so I can't offer the experience of being there with a 1 year old. I can tell you that the restaurant is set up so that you are dining in cars and there are some picnic tables so there is room for high-chairs. The restaurant is themed to feel as though you're at the drive-in. It's relatively quiet and it's dimly lit. There is a large drive-in movie screen which shows campy sci-fi movies trailers from the 50's and 60's (think "The Blob" and "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" type movies). For an adult or older child, they're more corny than scary, however a 1 year old might find them frightening.

My 3 year old was fine there. Really it would depend on how your child reacts to dark places and whether or not you feel the trailers might scare them.

I've been twice with little ones (6 months and turning 1). They pull up a highchair right to the side of the car where you are sitting.
