Sci-fi-Whats good?

I made us a lunch reservation for sci-fi. What do you like there? How are the ribs? It's not a menu that I woud choose but I think the kids will really like the place itself and a kids menu is a kids menu is a kids menu if you know what I mean. TIA

I haven't had everything on their menu, but based on the reviews, I would stick to burgers, fries, and shakes. With that being said, I have had a burger there and thought it was very good. Their milkshakes are awesome.

I agree with Crystal..stick with a burger and fries. It's a great atmosphere and we have eaten there several times just because of the atmosphere.

My son will be 4 when we go and I know eating in a "car" will be something he will truly enjoy.

The Reuben, burger and ribs are all good. The adult shakes are REALLY something.

Every trip we get ressie for Sci-Fi. We adults love it especially the ribs. They are very good. The kind of ribs that when you are done you want more!!! My 2 DS's 10 & 6 get such a kick out of sitting and eating in the car while watching the film. You will love it and so will your children.

Hi there,
I've eaten at the Sci-Fi many times usually during lunch hour. The atmosphere is what I think we really have fallen for and not the food. The food is certainly ok..do not get me wrong but it is not the best on property either.

I usually get the BLT soup which is tasty and a burger or a rueben. The best case to save money and to save on the splitting belly is that my spouse and I will get one appetizer/starter each and then split a meal.

We enjoy the movies and the atmosphere and would say to try it at least once. Word to the wise.....if you don't make reservations ahead of time before you go on vacation it will be either a very long wait or they will not have room at all.

I had a hamburger - it was good ... the strawberry shake was good too. I also tried the chili - thought it was pretty good as well.

We always get the onion rings (yummy), my DH usually gets a burger and I really like the 'Italian Grilled Chicken Sandwich'. They used to have a club sandwich that was really tasty but I'm not sure if it is still on the menu.

Can you pay extra & substitue onion rings for the fries? If we order onion rings, the fries won't be eaten. I hate wasting that much food. If nothing else, I suppose we can tell them to hold the fries.

The last time we went to Sci-Fi was a few years ago, so I can't remember what we ordered. But I know it wasn't the burger.

Everyone says to stick with the burgers, fries and shakes, but honestly are the burgers any better than regular CS burgers, i.e. Pecos Bill, Cosmic Ray's, American Adventure, etc.? Are they more akin to Beaches and Cream?

Even if the ribs, shrimp pasta and that new steak on the lunch menu aren't that wonderful, I have a real hard time blowing a DDP credit on a TS meal and settling for a burger. I loved the atmosphere, which is why we're going back. But can anyone really explain how great these burgers are, or is it just a case of going with the lesser of menu evils?

I can tell you what NOT to get and that was the butcher steak.
My husband and I both had this and it was horrible. Thankfully it was dark because I swear I was trying to chew someone's old loafer! The veggies were ice cold too.

Seriously, that lousy entree aside, the spinach dip was excellent! The milkshakes are out of this world good and my son really liked his hamburger. He said the fries were cold but he seemed to eat most of them anyway! Oh and the onion rings were exactly as they should be, big and greasy. My daughter's caesar salad came without dressing, but our server fixed that right away.

Honestly, I wouldn't go back here for a full meal but absolutely a treat during the day or a snack. It's a very cool atmosphere and while not everything on the menu is that fantastic, it's a lot of fun and worth a peek.

DH and I had the chicken sandwich for lunch in May and it was great!

The milkshakes are the best in all of WDW!!

Like others have already stated, Shake, burger fries and then hope you get a server who can get it to your table before the burger and friess are no longer hot-warm. Their not all capable of doing this in a timely manner. we have experienced great to poor service here. Overall, Sci Fi can be a hit a miss restaurant, but remember the food is not the attraction its the theme-atmosphere

DH loves the onion rings and cheese burgers
We both love the vanilla shakes and cheese cake dessert
I love the spinach dip and BBQ chicken sandwich on the lunch menu


I cannot remember what the kids have had there...I am guessing chicken fingers and fries...I do remember that they sat quietly and did eat all of their meal each time we have been.

I really like the BLT soup (without the L!). I usually order the burger and fries but saw the ribs go past me recently and I'm planning to order that next time.

We are eating here for the first time on our December trip...i think i am definitely getting a milk shake!! I think the kids will be pumped about eating in the cars.....I am really looking forward to it myself!!

Good to know! We'll probably do that. I've been looking at the adult shakes, & am now wondering if I could make a substitution on those too.
