Sci Fi WalkUp Solo Traveller Lunch

I've been trying to get a lunch solo reservation at Sci Fi on 11/29 with no luck. What are my chances of walking up and asking if I can eat without a reservation? I'm willing to eat lunch at an off time like 2-3 pm.

It can happen but you will not get seated in a car. I would keep trying. Search for 2 people also, sometimes you will be able to get it that way.

Will I be charged for the 2nd person not showing up? How do I handle that?

It must be fate because I just scored a lunch reservation @ 12:50 for 2 and then modified it down to 1! It's perfect

Congratulations!! It can be frustrating at times but always check 2 if 1 doesn't show up. Enjoy .

Will I be charged for the 2nd person not showing up? How do I handle that?

Nope! I do it all the time-make ADRs for 2, show up as a solo. I've never been charged. I figure that either I'll meet a new friend whom I want to invite to share a meal with or DH might show up to surprise me. But neither has happened, so I always show up solo and sometimes say my husband couldn't join me and sometimes they really don't seem to care, just rush off to change the ADR to 1. But in all the times I've done it, no charge.

Just so you won't be surprised, you will be seated with other diners in the car. I went solo and had ADR. I was a "hitchhiker". The cars typically have 3 rows of bench seats. I was seated in the last row of the car by myself and a family was seated together in front of me. To me, it was no big deal. They had their meal and I had mine as I watched the show.

Yay congrats! I often make adrs for 2, then modify it down to one.
BTW as long as you show up for your ADR, they wont charge you $10 for the "2nd person" no show.
