Sci-Fi vs Prime Time Cafe for lunch

Your paying for lunch so I would check out the menus first to decide, that's most important.
Having said that, if you're flexible with the menus I would check out the PrimeTime Diner...it's so interactive! There's constant ribbing and interaction, if it's not you, it's someone close by being repremanded for elbows on the table or something....there was guy put in the corner during our last visit there! The wait staff is smart enough to know how far they can go with people so it's not uncomfortable at all...just plain fun in my opinion!
The Sci-Fi is fun too, but I think you can easily get the jist of it's entertainment if you go in during a quite time and just have a soda or milkshake.

Most of the tables are the cars with (I think) two seats in them, some may have three. They all face forward and it is two people per row unless your tiny or have children then you may be able to fit three but I wouldn't think that would be very comfortable. I saw a couple of cars that were made with a table in the middle where you could face eachother but there weren't many of these and they only seemed to be using them for bigger parties.

Here I am 90 days out from the day that we are eating lunch at Disney Studios. We are doing the dining plan, so we are planning on using one of our table services for lunch and I am not sure where we should go. We are first timers to WDW and dining will be myself, DH, DD4 and DS5. What do you suggest between Sci-fi or Primetime? I have read good and not so good about both, and have a slight fear that the servers at Prime time might be too much for us. Please help me decide.

Sooner or later you have to try both, but, for now your kids probably would enjoy siting in the cars watching the movies. IF a chocolate milkshake would help make the choice easier, Prime Time!

But,thinking for the younger :earsgirl: that you're taking, that Prime Time might be better cuz Sci Fi is dark and shows different movies! But,who knows they might like that, but it's also darker and hard to see your food.I'd opt for the Prime Time with the :grouphug:
Have fun,

I have a PS for the Sci Fi restaurant in April. It's a PS for 9 people (5 small children ages 3 to 8) and 4 adults. How will they seat us? Will we get to sit in the cars?

Thanks, Karen

I think the food at 50's is MUCH better than Sci-Fi. If you don't want to be the center of attention, let them know when you check in that you are shy and son't want the "treatment". You'll be able to watch the fun without getting involved.

If you have a PS for 9 people they will either break you up between two different cars which could mean that you are not sitting by eachother if there aren't two available cars next to eachother at your designated time or they will put you in one of the modified cars that have a table in the center.
