Sci-Fi vs. H&V?

We were originally planning to go to Hollywood & Vine for breakfast or lunch on our DHS day, because DS2 loves Jake & the Neverland Pirates. However ...

We'll see Jack at the Disney Jr. show (not full-size Jake, but still ...)

It's just Jake, not Izzy or Hook, etc. (For some reason, he really likes Hook!)

He doesn't care so much about the other Disney Jr. characters who will be there, such as Oso, Little Einsteins, etc. (Now if it were Doc McStuffins ... that would be different. )

And ... every review I've seen of H&V has been mediocre at best, lousy at worst.

So, we're thinking of going for Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater for lunch instead. Despite being big science-fiction fans, DH and I have never been there. The boys are also being raised as little sci-fi fans, so I'm thinking they might enjoy it. The theming looks amazing.

Thoughts? Which would you pick?

We are all adults and have never done the character dining at HV. But we have had dinner a couple times. Not a fan. Not great food and it was cold. We like Scifi. But not the greatest food either. Lol More for lunch type food. Burgers and fries. But we would still pick scifi. However if I had a little one who wanted to see some characters I would prob go to HV. Scifi can be a little scary. Giant people, bugs, people screaming. JMO!
