We prefer 50's Prime Time Cafe. I know it's completely subjective, but on a personal level I like the food better (as well as being able to see what I'm eating clearly) I like the decor better. I also just think that (provided you get an interactive server) the experience is more memorable at Prime Time.

Ditto. The food at 50's is much better.

I'll be honest I've never eaten at Sci-Fi, but I've eaten at 50's many time. The last 2 times were very disappointing (2020) the service was okay but the food did not taste as great as it did 4 years ago. My family loves Mama's and if you have a gluten allergy or intolerance it was great Italian. But if you're looking to try something new, I'd vote Sci-Fi!

Sci-fi or 50's, the battle of mediocrity! LOL
I'd go with Sci-Fi as it's the cheaper option and really the coolest concept.
Save the pot roast, fried chicken for somewhere else, like Homecomin and Raglan Road...

I really appreciate everyone's responses. Not sure what I'll go with yet. It may just come down to availability.
I actually really like the quick service places at HS (Esp. Docking Bay 7), but was looking to try for an hourish long indoor escape in the middle of a hot and most likely crowded day. :thumbsup2

Don't forget you can always jump on the Skyliner and eat at Pop, AoA, Riviera, Yacht and Beach Club, Caribbean Beach, Boardwalk of even EPCOT and hop back to HS as well.

Is definitely in the hub of many good options if we felt like leaving and coming back.

WELL.... since you asked... I am a soon to be recalled Disney server and my home location is... 50’s Prime Time soooo if I don’t want mom to be mad at me I’d better pick her food!!! From what everyone working is telling me they’ve had to completely tone theatrics down due to the pandemic, so it might not be overly chaotic like it can be sometimes... I like Sci Fi too.... it’s just a different atmosphere! Let us know what you pick!!!

Happy for you getting recalled!

That's great that you're about to head back! Best wishes!!!

They're both great but we have found that Sci Fi gives us a much needed cool and dark/relaxing break in the middle of the day that is much more recharging for our family!

We ate lunch at Sci-Fi during a prior Disney trip since the place next door (can't recall the name) was closed for renovations. There wasn't any other good choices in that part of the park for lunch. We requested one of the regular tables around the back which worked out well for us. Food was nothing special for lunch and old movie clips won't mean much to anyone who is under 50 since you won't know what TV show/movie it was from. Inside seemed dingy to us and in need or a remake. Not someplace we would eat again.

We prefer the food at 50’s Primetime. Especially since what we liked at Sci Fi isn’t on the menu currently. It’s also easier to snag a reservation for 50’s.

I was at Sci-Fi on Wednesday. First time...frankly, I didn't really like it. I could not see the menu, nor my food. My meal was pretty salty. The 'carhop' was good at his job, though! I found the table in the car to be tight, and I'm a small adult.

It wasn't for me I guess.

SciFi theming is great but the various revisions over the years to the menu just not appealing to my family

if u don’t want to join into the bantering at the 50s, let the hostess know upfront. No issue

Sci-fi or 50's, the battle of mediocrity! LOL
Sadly, true

Tough choice, I'm not a huge fan of either. I don't mind the "show" at 50s, although I'd rather not have it, but the food is just too much and too heavy for me. Sci-Fi is cute, the food is o.k., not great, we sat in the back at a table not in a car and found plenty of light.

Frankly, I agree with another poster that I'd go outside the park. You can take a boat over to any of the Epcot resorts or anything on the BW. I love The Fountain at the Dolphin, it's on limited hours right now so depending on your day that might not work.

Always enjoyed Sci-Fi. Love the bad 50's movies.
50's Prime Time has been hit or miss. The food is generally consistent. Sometimes we have had a waitstaff who was really into character and it was a lot of fun. The last 2 visits, our waitstaff was no different that any other restaurant. Without that, it isn't worth going.
Personally, we go to Brown Derby and are very happy.

gone to sci-fi 3 times over 10 years , never had a good meal , its like pre cooked frozen they heat up in the microwave . that place has the like the only burger I really dislike. personally avoiding Hollywood table Services on our next trip this fall.
