Sci Fi Theatre for a 2 year old?

Something to think about

the cars have 2 seats in front and two seats in back both facing foward so If it is 3 of ya'll 1 person will be sitting alone facing in the other direction

there is alternate seating like a front of a car with a table attached or picnic tables but if you want car seating it is 2 per bench if I remember correctly

the movie clips are not scary they are old clips (think godzilla in black and white) and the food is traditional american

My son was totally fine at 35-36 months old. Of course, he LIKED to watch the 30s Frankenstein and Dracula movies and the 7th voyage of sinbad.

It is dark, and my son doesn't love the dark, but he was okay with it b/c I was sitting next to him, and it was a welcome escape from the heat.

As the previous poster said, 2 seats per bench. So 2 of you in the front, and one in the back....both parties facing forward. There is a light on the "dashboard", so you do get some light. Overall the place is darker than most restaurants because of the movie feature playing. I think your son will LOVE this place! Its a lot of fun. Granted some kids freak out over the movie selection, but not all kids do. It depends how sensitive your son is to things like that.
I love their food, its simple yet delish. GREAT RIBS!! Burgers and shakes are yummy too! My son and I LOVE Sci Fi!!!! :thumbsup2

I too kmy girls at 30 months and htye wre not scared but they did not care about what was playing on the tv either and they do watch tv at home. just nothing that was of interest to them

When DS was 2 (his first trip to Disney) the 2 restaurants he was the most fidgeting and difficult were the ones with lower lighting (Le Cellier and Coral Reef) He wwas great every where else. And in subsequent trips since - as long as the restaurant was bright DS was fine. I would like to go to SciFi as the menu looks yummy, but am opting out this year because DS (4) will not like the low lighting. I'm not concerened about the trailers on the screen - bu he just doesn't like lowly lit places.

I'm not sure if your son will be the same as every kid is different. He may enjoy sitting in the car and watching the trailers. Unfortunely with little ones we don't know until we try it. Things I thought my son wouldlike he didn't and things I thought he wouldn't like he did...go figure!

2 adults and a 2 year old will be seated on one bench seat. We did this with a 3 year old.

The thing you have to keep in mind is that you may not be seated at the front of the car. You could be seated behind strangers as the "hitchhikers".

Our guy was not interested in the movie trailers at all. He was more interested in the glowing ice cube.

Oh, I forgot to add that we bought my son one of the specialty drinks with the Lightning McQueen light.

He hates the dark, but loves glow things and flashlights, so that helps...if you don't want to pay so much for the drink, you could get some glow bands from Target dollar spot or something and get that out if the dim lights are an issue.

Really? That sounds like a tight fit. Those seats are not that wide. wWe are pretty small people (I'm 110 lbs and my DS is about 160) and I don't think we would have been able to sit comfortably with one of our children between us.

I think a 2-year old would like it. We ate when my kids were 2 and 4. Of course, we sat them together in the front and we sat behind them. The darkness is a little tough tough. My DS dropped his milkshake.
