Sci Fi or 50's Primetime

We ate at Sci Fi today & it was fantastic. Got one of the cars right in front of the screen. Waitress was great - food was quick & we were able to get in without a reservation about 3pm. Had the grilled chicken sandwich, FF, and of course an order of onion rings & hubby had the rueben (which he said was the best he'd ever eaten). Saw tons of people with milkshares & the ice cream sundaes - which made me regret not getting dessert. Next time definitely will. Tons of families and assorted ages of kids, so it must be a big hit with the families. It sure was for the two of us! :santa:

We ate at both on our last trip, and while we liked both - I'd have to vote Sci-Fi

My vote is for Prime Time. Ate at Sci-Fi once did not care for the food.

We made ADRs for this and it was a lot of fun. We walked right past a whole group of people waiting to get in. We also asked to be sure that we sat in a car and she said that since we made an ADR we are guaranteed one of those. I don't know if that is true or not since it was our first time but thought I would let you know. We loved having an all american meal complete with shakes. Our DS loved the glowing ice cubes in my drink (not a shake). We didn't see these on the menu but had heard about them on the board. They were great in the dark of the drive-in. Click on the picture below to see the inside of the place.

Made ADR for Sci Fi in July for lunch. Do you get a car if you make a ADR? SHould I have suggested one when making the ressie? :confused3

Definitely Sci-Fi!
I actually like the food and don't find it bad at all, sure it's not 5 star dining but at WDW I'd rather go for magical atmosphere and theming than food anyway.
:goodvibes

One of my families fav place to eat is prime time. My kids (13,10 and 6) vote for prime time over Sci fi hands down.
We have always had the best servers at prime time and are usually in stitches the entire meal.

BUT it takes a certain type of family to like prime time over sci fi... if dad doesn't mind having the server put a bib on him and feeding him airplane style in front of his kids (who are falling over in the chairs laughing) then prime time is the way to go. If mom and dad are more reserved and don't like being put on the spot, then sci fi is better.

Any time we bring up past Disney trips one of our kids ALWAYS brings up something funny that happened at Prime time. This is usually where we get most of our "magical moments" from our trip :rotfl:

I like the food better at Prime Time but the atmosphere at SciFi better. My DS5 loves SciFi and insisted that we go there our first night on our upcoming trip.

I was not impressed with Sci Fi dinner at all! But I hear that lunch (or just order burger at dinner, not on the menu but they will do it) and you will be ok. Otherwise I would go to prime time. Food is 100% dinner there. Sci Fi DINNER was just really overpriced and bad.
