I am just wondering about Sci-Fi. What are some of your experiences?
TIA!::yes::

We have been three times over the course of the past year and a half...We love it...The food is not fancy but you can get a great vanilla milk shake, a really good burger or chicken sandwich, and the desserts are yummy....But it is the atmosphere that we really enjoy...Our children are small and they sit so quietly watching the old movies...It is really cool to sit in a car to have a meal...It is a different experience and fun...We have had three good servers and liked our food every time...Different members of our family joined us during different visits and they all liked it too...

We are not going back next trip in order to try something new...But we will be back again in the future.

We didn't care for it. The food was very "blehh" and overpriced. Service was below par, but not horrible. I would recommend stopping in for milkshakes, but skipping it for a full meal. :)

My daughter loves it! The food is okay, but the atmosphere is awesome and a must visit for us every year!

If you are looking for a good burger, fries, onion rings or milkshake with an awesome atmosphere then you can not go wrong.

I agree the atmosphere is awesome! Our server was great, the oreocookie milkshake was to die for!! I hear nothing but good about the hamburgers , although I haven't had one !!

Great atmosphere, OK food. Definatley a "must do" if it's your first or only time to WDW...after that it's skippable for a while.

Been twice myself...will go back eventually.

It's okay...We've been twice. Once on Mother's day a few years ago and also last year on our honeymoon. The atmosphere is awesome but the food is only okay. The selection sucks but if it's a burger and shake (or beer) your in for then it's pretty good. The hostess was a biotch the last time we went there and almost ruined the entire experience for us. Luckily the server was awesome and totally took care of us. We enjoyed it and would go again. The kids thought the cars were really cool and they can't wait to go back again...so....I'd say, yes, you should definitely check it out...you won't find anything else like it and then you could probably skip it on future trips if you want...

My husband and I love it. with the meal plan, i'm not paying too much attention to the price versus the quality. the atmosphere is awesome, and i would definitely recommend it! The servers were great and very lively.

my advice? just do it! :)

I have to admit that the food is not "knock your socks off" but the atmosphere more than makes up for it! I've gone probably 5-6 times :)

I agree with the other posters who have said burger, milkshake (or adult drink), and soak up the atmosphere. We have always had very good service and hostesses - never a complaint there! The food isn't bad but it isn't really memorable. I don't recall the prices being too outrageous, but then again it is so dark in there maybe I read the bill wrong! :rotfl2:

I loved it!

Been there once, and have a reservation for our upcoming trip.

It's noisy but it's a lot of fun. The burger is huge and you can't go wrong with a milkshake! Yummy!

I went to the Sci-Fi when I was about 15ish. It's fantastic. The food isn't spectacular compared to some other high-quality Disney locales, but is still comparable to or better than most of what you'd find in the real world.

The drive-in atmosphere is not to be missed. The trailers are hilarious. They make the whole meal go a lot quicker so even if the service that night is a bit slow you'd never notice.

I'm trying to recall if there was a "Manos:The Hands of Fate" trailer. That's a B (C, D, E, F?)-movie classic. My wife and I are going there in September and I'm looking forward to seeing trailers to movies that I've watched on Mystery Science Theater 3k DVDs since my last meal there.

In other words, MST3k fans or geeks in general will adore this place.

I have a question for those who have been there also....

How many people does each car seat? If there's only 2 of us, can we get a

whole car to ourselves or will they seat us in a car with others? :confused3

They will sit you with other people.

But that doesn't matter since you'll see their backs. You won't feel obligated to talk to them ;)

Sci Fi is not overly expensive. Check the menu on this site. We do the dining plan, but choose to pay for this out of pocket & use our counter service for a more expensive meal. The atmosphere is great. No better way to get away from the heat for lunch. I can only tell you about the burgers ($11.99 last time I checked), as we all ate burgers. We all rate the burgers as GOOD!

The cars cars actually work better for 2 people than 4. You will only be able to really visit easily with the person sitting next to you.

My parents ate at Sci Fi this week and thought it was a great experience. My teenage daughter continues to bring this restaurant up when I discuss our next trip. I suggest giving it a try.

We have it on our "Must Do" list mostly for the atmosphere. Like previous posters...the food is OK but the atmosphere is to die for. I suggest going for lunch rather than dinner because you won't know the difference once you are in the restaurant. The cars are really cool and we've NEVER had a bad server. By the way...lunch is a bit cheaper than dinner I believe.

I love it! :)

I've been there a few times over the past two years. The food was fantastic on my most recent trip this past April. I had the spinach and artichoke cheese dip and a burger. Loved it! My boyfriend had the ribs and said that they were good. He also enjoyed the BLT soup and said it was well done. This is a very fun place to have lunch!

Don't flame me, but once was enough. The atmosphere IS very cool, but the service and food kinda left something to be desired. Have your meal at 50's Prime Time and head over to Sci Fi for dessert for the atmosphere.

We ate there during my first trip in 2006. We were there during free dining, but did not have free dining... we walked in around 12:30pm without a ressie and were seated within 5 minutes. The food was good - it was huge, and good. I loved the atmosphere too. Will definitely return on our next trip.
