Sci-Fi on DDP - Shake, Dessert or Both?

When I was at Disney in December we at at 50's PTC using the DDP. We were able to get shakes as our drink AND a dessert at the end of the meal. I've been reading some of the reviews for Sci-Fi and see that people get a shake or dessert. Do they treat a shake as a dessert there?

In 2009, my DH got a shake as his drink and then as dessert (which I recommend b/c my dessert just wasn't that great )

I would be curious to know the answer too...when we go in July there will be 2 adults and 1 child, but we only want to use one adult meal credit...so I was hoping to order 2 milkshakes, onion rings, and 2 entrees and only pay OOP for 1 entree and the onion rings

I went in October and got a strawberry shake for my drink and a hot fudge sundae for dessert

Usually they will let you do a shake as a drink or dessert but only with adult meal credits. Kids could only get a shake (small sized) as a dessert and that is not consistently allowed.

We ate there in November and were on the DDP and both my husband and I got shakes for our drink and a dessert. The strawberry shake was very good! The straw has a little spoon on the end. Very handy and cute.

It seems almost every restaurant that serves milkshakes, including Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time and Whispering Canyon, will allow you to order one as your drink and have a separate dessert.
