DD9 and I will be going to Sci-Fi in October, but the lunch menu doesn't really appeal to me- we've only done dinner before...can I make a meal out of the app the has spinache dip/chili and tortillas?

I'm not really a hamburger kind of person or I would probably get that. Any other menu suggestions?

If you don't mind me asking, why are you going if the menu doesn't appeal to you?

If you are just going for the atmosphere, then I would go with an app or two and a milkshake (mmmmm :) ). Or even soup, salad, and dessert. (I personally loved the BLT soup.)

The vegetarian pasta dish is amazing!!
It's not on the menu but all you have to do is ask for it
You can also ask for a veggie burger - also very good
Especially with the toppings they add if you want

If I remember the size of that app correctly, it would make a small meal.
I like the Beef and Bleu Salad as a hearty meal...

I would look at a pic of the beef/blue salad before you decide. Look at the "food porn" thread for pics. or do a search on this site. Im sure its good, but it doesnt look very appealing to me to be honest. I dont like the fact that they literally cut half of a head of lettuce and plop it on your plate. Also, I normally dont eat iceburg lettuce anyway....i prefer the darker greens like romain, loose leaf, spinach etc.

Because we do love the atmosphere and it is the only ADR DD asked me to make.

I think the tofu dish is amazing. I just don't think that chips and dip would be a good lunch for me, but you do what works for you and enjoy it!

:)

The reuben was really good. And of course, you've got to get a milk shake . . .

Okay, so tell me about the milkshakes...I do really like them on occasion, but what makes these so great? I usually 'save' up my dessert calories during the day because I like to have something at night when on vacation, but more than a few people have said get a milkshake...

So which ones are super awesome and what makes them so amazing- cause chances are I am going to get one if everyone keeps mentioning it...like a Dole Whip- I don't LOVE them as much as some do but I HAVE to get one just cause its a Dole Whip and it's Adventureland in Magic Kingdom and that's what one does there...:rotfl:

LOL - I just did that last week! :goodvibes

I had the spinach & artichoke dip plus the chili dip & chips. For me, that was a fine meal. There were too many chips for the dips (as I like a lot of dip on each chip), so I didn't eat all the chips (because I only eat chips with dip). It was comfort food! And I topped the meal off with a piece of cheesecake (though I had contemplated a milkshake instead, as I love cookies & cream shakes!) The chips/dip alone may not have been quite enough (unless I was stopping at the Writer's Stop for a carrot cake cookie after the meal), but with dessert, I was pleasantly full.

Have fun on your trip!

Been to SciFi Diner last two trips and going again because DS likes it. The food is ok. I liked the onion rings and Reuben sandwich. I don't know why people rave about the milkshakes which are obviously machine made with artificial flavor. If you want a real homemade milkshake made with real ice cream, go to 50s Prime Time instead. We go to Scifi because DS likes it and we are not paying full price using the dining plan. For good food, Brown Derby.
