Sci -Fi in DHS,any good?

The Sci Fi is hard for me because we have eaten there 3 times and had a great experience all around the 1st time, terrible service and ok food the second time, and TERRIBLE food and good service last year!

However, the atmosphere is terrific for the kiddos and the shakes rock!:wizard:

We have eaten there twice in the past and had poor food and very poor service both times. It's one of only two places to eat at WDW that I have vowed never to try again.

But, as they say, "to each his own."

Enjoy.

We enjoy the atmosphere and food... We are simple eaters and Sci-Fi has simple foods...

I agree - I'm a simple eater too, and a lot of the other sit down restaurants in WDW seem to have a lot of what I don't want to eat. I think that is why I love Sci-Fi. We were there last Monday (4/7), and I had the angus burger and thought it was great. The atmosphere is great, reminds me how much I miss drive-In's (I'm not old enough to have seen those particular movies...but I did see Sound of Music & the first Star Wars at the Drive-In!) It also has the type of horror movies I can watch :rotfl2: . We were also joking with the hostess and the family in front of us, because the two of us were seated in the back seat of the car! We have never had an ADR, but we tend to go at an off time - this year it was about 3:30 ish and had only a 5 min wait.

It seemed that this time they either changed or added to the selection of movie clips/cartoons etc, because they didn't recycle once while we were there. And of course, I couldn't leave until I saw the dancing hotdog & marching icecream bar...love those old "go to the refreshment stand" commercials.

Anyway - I say try it. It's great fun.

We love the Sci-Fi, infact DD6 said it was her favorite restaurant on the whole trip. She liked sitting in the car eating and watching the movie clips. The Sci-Fi clips they play shouldn't frighten your young one at all...they are way too silly.

I love the Sci-Fi.. The Oreo Shake is unreal. I can taste it aleady! Only 2 1/2 weeks until i get to have one! and the chocolate tart is to die for. I usualy share the kids pizza with my DS10 since they don't have the chicken sandwich anymore. I can't wait to go back! That was the 1st ADR that we made when we hit our 180 days. I could have 4 Oreo Shakes if they would let me.. just get them all to go :lmao: they are that good. I haven't been able to find any place around here that makes one even 1/2 as good, and there are a ton of ice cream places around my house.
