Sci-fi Dine In ... is it any good?

I made a ps here for the five of us (3 girls, 10, 8 & 5). I thought it looked like fun. Is the food good. The unofficial guide book says no.

If you stick with sandwiches, fries and shakes you will be okay. Remember the portions are HUGE so you may be able to split a meal. I actually ordered a shake and asked for a small cup for my DS. Our waiter brought a shake for me and a kids cup shake for my DS at no extra charge!! This place is a fun place for kids. It's not cheap, tho. So, if you want a taste of the atmosphere you could make a PS for shakes and a snack.

We dined there last year in Nov.(3dd 2,4,9) they thought it was really cool. The food was ok. Just average food with a neat atmosphere.

My 7 year old and I stopped at the Sci-Fi for lunch during our trip last month. Just got burgers and shakes and he loved it. Was the food great? No, but it was more than acceptable. Better than your average fast food place. It's the atmosphere that makes it here. I knew not to expect the best burger I had ever tasted but I can't say that I was disappointed in the quality....it was more than adequate. Dining in those cars was a cool experience. We will do it again. Kids love it!

I went there this past August and had pasta which was pretty good. I think we also had a tomato with mozzarella salad, also very good. My mom had ribs which were to die for she said and she's not easily impressed! I think the food is better at Sci Fi than Mama Melrose.

This isn't just about the food--it's about the experience!! A must stop each trip for us, and our DS-16 and DD-14 are just as in favor of going here as they were when they were your kids ages.

The food is good. The beverages can be a bit watered down by the time they arrive, but so what--it brings back my era of going to drive in movies, something my kids didn't get a chance to take part in.

We love it!! you will too.

We also like the sci fi, and agree with the other posters that the food isn't the best. However, we've found that the lunch menu is much better than the dinner menu (and slightly less expensive as well). I had a steak the one time we went for dinner. It was dry, flavorless, and there isn't much room in those cars to wield a knife and fork for doing all that cutting! Stick to lunch with the yummy burgers and sandwiches, and enjoy the atmosphere!

Onion rings to die for.

We enjoyed our food there last month very much. We all got burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes.

My kids (4 & 8), loved the atmosphere. We were pleasantly suprised after reading some of the reviews.

The previous poster is correct. If you aren't really really hungry, the sandwiches are big enough to share.

Ate there in June , 2 adults and 2 13-year-old boys. Great burgers and onion rings and I had a wonderful grilled reuben. Milk shakes were very good and the movie clips are a real trip! Most seating is in cars, but there is a chance you would be seated on picnic type tables in the real. If you want a car, make sure you ask. We had PS and still waited 30 minutes to be seated for lunch.

I've eaten here a number of times and have never had a bad meal. I really enjoy their chicken sandwich. My mother always liked their hamburgers. Just stick with basics and you really can't go wrong. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. Different from any other restaurant that I've ever been to. I really think everyone should give it a try at least once.

My family really loved this place, from grandparents on down. We did only get burgers, but the atmosphere was so fun and the kids loved eating in the cars and the silly cartoons! A fun break in the day when we stopped for lunch.

Onion rings, fries and skakes we have enjoyed at Sci-Fi and the themeing is great.Service for us has always been above average. Have a great trip
