We're heading to the world in just 39 days - WOO HOO! We'll have 5 in our party - me, DH, my mom, DD8 and DS4. Do you think that the five of us could fit in one of the car booths? My mom is fairly small so I'm hoping she and the two kids could sit on one row and me and DS on the other? Anyone ever tried 5 in one of the cars, or will they even let us try it? DS is so set on a car booth after seeing it on the Unwrapped show. :) Thanks for any advice!

We are almost always a party of 5 and we always sit in a car booth at Sci Fi. Two DSs sit together in the front seat, DH and I share a seat, and my mom often sits alone, either in the middle seat or the back seat. I know its not ideal to have one in your party sit alone, but we are in the same "car" and my mom never minds. Some of the cars only have two booths, but many have three booths per car. I would think it would be uncomfortable to try and eat with 2 kids and an adult all in one seat. There isn't a bunch of space and the "table", if you want to call it that, is very, very narrow.

Yes, this is doable. Usually they have 3 rows.

But consider eating at one of the other HS restaurants. Some of the others have better food...

We love dining at sci-fi. We are also a party of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids).

We always put our sons in the front row, my daughter and I in the middle and my husband in the back alone. He LOVES the quiet of the meal - it is a nice break from a busy day.

I have a picture of him a few years back and I swear he is asleep in the back row.

With a party of 5 you will get your won car. Do not try to put 3 in a row - to tight.

The last time we were a party of 5, my husband and I, our son, his wife and our grandson. They put my son and daughter in law in the front with their 4 year old son between them and we sat behind.

We've eaten here many times and have never had to squeeze 3 in; not sure why they did it this time. Since our son is about 6'2" and his 4 year old son is big for his age, it was a pretty tight squeeze for the 3 of them.

Most of the cars have 3 rows. With 5 people you would probably have the entire car to yourself to sit as you would like. I wouldn't try to put 3 people in a row (even if some of they were kids) as that would be a really tight/uncomfortable fit.

Thanks guys! I didn't remember them having three rows - thank you so much for this information! This is a huge help. DS will be thrilled that we can have a car booth - I am definitely requesting one when we arrive. :-)

If you have a reservation, you are guaranteed a car. :)
