me and the Dbf went to the sci fi drive in. .
1st theres only like 5 choices of entrees to choose from. everything was just eh ok. it wasnt anything exciting, thought the atmosphere was cool..

dbf said he wouldnt do it again, and i kinda agree..

only thing good were our milkshakes

I agree with you. Our food was JUST ok and my daughter hated her pizza and refused to eat it. Luckily the gave her a burger instead. Glad I saw it but will not return.

Since Disney released the Dining Plan we have made a point to eat at SciFi on each trip. However, when I think about it, I dont know why. My husband is a big scifi fan and loves the B movies. The food on the other hand is so not worth it. The menu is not what you would expect at a drive in theater. On the 4 or 5 occations we have eaten there, I have never enjoyed the food. Even my husband says the food is no good and he eats anything. I think on our next trip we are considering not even purchasing the Dining Plan. Either the Sci Fi needs to revamp their menu or do a better job with the one they have.

we think of the sci-fi as an attraction with food

it's all about the theming in there - which is why we only get burgers/fries when we go there

::yes:: I agree about the attraction with food comment. We do like the food though. I always have to get the artichoke dip appetizer (even though it is not on the DDP anymore) and I think they have really good burgers. So it is something we do every time.

ok so i am glad that I'm not the only one that feels this way lol.
i see some people that go there over and over on food reports on here, but the food wasnt even all that. and it was kind of expensive for what it was. I guess I would rather go to a real sit down next time. :thumbsup2
but the surroundings were cool.

DH and I first ate at Sci-Fi in 2003, and we had a great experience. The food was yummy (DH really enjoyed the ribs) and we loved the atmosphere. So when we returned in 2004, we expected a lot, but we were really let down. DH got the ribs again. That time they were dry and disappointing. I still like the atmosphere here a lot, but I'd go at lunch for a burger and shake.

I think it's best perk is that it's so quiet. When we went all the kids were enthralled with the movie screen, giving us adults some time to just relax. But the food was rather bland, we're going to do it again though as it's the resturant DD picked. (Everyone in the family picks one TS that's a HAVE to go to.)

Well I liked the sci fi dine in. True, the food wasn't quite up to par with Le Cellier, but it's still a fun place. I would do it again, but only because I like the drive in atmosphere.

i'm sitting on the fence with this one. I have it down on my list but i dont know if i want to pay a table serving for it or trade it for coral reef( not sure if the protions @CR are good though). I would like to experience it though.I like the cars and want pics . Plus i think dfi would like the milkshakes and dd the cars. Has anyone just gone for shakes and onionrings or dessert? Watcha think i should do????

I've never gotten a shake from there, but I really like the onion rings and the
sundae is really good too!!

the milkshakes were the only good part..
i had a choc one.. and i think it was made out of choc ice cream so it was reaaally good :)

I agree! I like the old menu much better!!

it sounds to me like a glorified counter service restaurant on the DDP, that's too bad because I'd hate to use a table service on it but I'd like to eat there for the experience. Oh well, at 34 I guess I have plenty of time to try everything but I'll opt for Le Cellier, Rose and Crown and Narcoosees this time in Nov. ;)

I thought it was really fun, and the burger, onion rings and shake were good for what they were.

Of course, I think *most* food at Disney is just OK and nothing to write home about, and have yet to eat at a place there and have my socks knocked off, while some posters here are estatic about Stouffer's Mac & Cheese and pre-packaged brownies. So, to each his own . . . .

We only go every few years. When we do it is for lunch we always get an order of onion rings to share, 4 burger and fry combos and 4 shakes. This year the burgers were the best I've had in a very long time. Big, juicy and delightful. Fries were hot crisp and salty. The only downside was the strawberry shake mach. was not working so I had to sub choc. which was fine. The dining plan has changed nearly all menus to make things easier to get out and get the tables turned over quick. Even the CS places have trimmed their meus so either "by popular demand our guests have requested that we not give them choices" or it is less expensive and faster to offer less stuff.

Everytime we go to WDW, everyone in the family gets to pick one TS. My DD(15) wants SciFi. I opted for lunch. I am subscribed to a thread on "food porn" :lmao: ....aka pictures of food, and the majority of the pics of SciFi food looks great. I am ready for one of those big juicy burgers!! :rotfl:
