My DD School is out for a whole week Feb. 8th-17th. They called it Presidents week. How many other schools are starting to do this? :confused3

I'm planning on taking her to DL sometime this month and thought that might be a great time to go, but I don't want to go if it’s going to be busy with all the other schools being out.

I looked on the DL website to see the hours. They are short hours that week but the week of the 15th they are open a lot longer. I don’t mind the shorter hours because I know that means that it shouldn’t be as busy.

Would love to hear how many schools are going to be doing this so I can’t start to plan dates for our trip. :flower3:

Only one district in our area (around Modesto) has that week off. But I would avoid Presidents weekend if at all possible, because many schools have a 4 day weekend (Fri-Mon).

My kids get the week off, and I know of more than a few other districts in the bay area that take the week off.

I'm in San Jose. Most of the schools here are out for President's week, the week of Feb 15th.

We have school here, and the girls do not have a 4 day weekend, just Monday. They have next Monday too, so they have the 8th & the 15th off.

We are in Washington State....my son's district is out Feb. 15 - 19 for Mid Winter Break.

We are flying down late on the 16th and will be in the Parks the 17th - 20th.

I cannot wait! Two weeks to go.

I was just going to point about mid winter break.

That's been going on in Tacoma school districts for OVER 10 years (11 years ago I was dating a special ed assistant in the school district so I was aware of it). Nothing new around here!

Hi!
We are from NY and everyone in the entire state has the week off from school. We are flying to CA for the first time to enjoy our Presidents Week.

My neice moved from south Miami this past school year to NY with her three children 17, 13, and 12 and they have never even heard of President's Week. SHOCKER TO ME!!

Many from Southern Arizona will be there the week after Presidents week as that is Rodeo and that is when kids have off school. :cool1:

Wow I never new that so many schools were out in feb. Good too know. I'm still up in the air about my dates. Feb 8th-12th or feb 22-26 or in march.

I am out that week too! Love working with kids at a school!:cool1:

I got that whole week, and really not any worse then the summer!

Grandson is off that week (Phoenix area) but we plan on waiting till May to visit DL.

I am in WI and we do not get off for MLKD or Presidents Day, much less the whole week. When do your kids start school and get out for the summer?

Here school starts after labor day and finishes up near the end of June. In between is a vacation at xmas time, the week off in February and a week off at Easter time.

Well that makes sense. Our kids' last day is June 9 this year and they also start after Labor Day. It would stink to have a week off in Feb with the weather here especially so soon after the 2 week Christmas vacation. I'm glad they give us a longer summer vacation.

My DD started school mid August and well be getting out of school the first week days of June. She had a week break for xmas. (we are in central CA)

I Had no idea that Disneyland would be so busy in Feb. I'm going to really try and make it down there before spring break starts. :)
