Can I have everyone's opinion on which you suggest and which is better. I know it can depend so i'll tell my part of the story...: Next year will be when I go into high school. I can choose from my high school in town or different Catholic schools. I have been in a catholic school From grades kindergarten-seventh and now going on to eighth. Each one has their own advantages and disadvantages. I am a person who is not too popular but def. not lame. I am used to a sort of small school with not too big of a class. I am an average kind of student and make friends fast && slow at the same time. I dodn't like to deal with people who are stuck up or rude but u find them eveyhere anyways anf I just ignore them. My sense of style is good.
What do you think is best for me?!

Thanks for the help! :)

Just go the public schools.
I've never tried a Catholic school, but don't they have uniforms and such? I wouldn't exactly want my religion messed in with my learning.
Plus, if you've been in a Catholic school since kindergarten, I think you should try going to a normal public school.
I've always dreamed of being in a boarding school. But however, it's hard to get your privacy there, and you'll be stuck with these people for most your next four years. You know how at school, say you had a bad day? You don't want to stay there with those people. Home is (for most people, but not all) a safe haven from the drama and the teachers.

well, I don't know about the Catholic school. But I go to a Private School. I like it, it's not Catholic, so I don't have like special classes for Church and stuff. I like it, I like it ALOT better than at the public school I used to go to. I think in private school it is more sheltered and the people aren't as mean as at public school. I think if you have been in a Catholic school your whole life, going to a public school will be hard. If you dont want to go to a Catholic school anymore, I say look into a private school that isnt catholic. Because, yes, people are mean where ever you go, but at private/catholic schools they arent as mean, I think you would be better in a private school. I would deffinately look into a regular private school. And it doesnt have to be a boarding school. you coud find one near you where you can comute to school.
hope this helped. If you have any questions about private vs. public schools. or even questions about my school(which is CT and is a boarding/comuting school) feel free to PM me. I will be happy to help in any way.

okey wow. Thanks for the advice you too. It is hard to decide but my time will come when I am ready to.

well, not to rush you or anything. But if you do end up going to a private school, now is the time to start going on interviews and filling out applications. Its a long process and should be started really early.

really? I never knew that. I thought Caotholic schools were harder to get into. hmm

I'll post my decision when I figure everything out. Then maybe you can help me if the answer is Public School.

Public School all the way!! No Uniforms (more self eexpression in wearing the things you want in my P.O.V) more freedom (in my POV again) i know people that go to privat Catholic Schools - from what they tell me i would definitely hate it! and in public schools (from what info i have gotten from my friends) is more alike real life (more peer pressure (not that im saying its a good thing) and learning to deal with it, more religion so more multi cultural (i guess thats how you say it! haha!) i think PUblic School is better... :)

Well I've been in Catholic school from preschool to 8th grade. Now I attend a public high school. I'll be honest I like public school much better; but it's really a huge adjustment, well for me at least.

go wherever you want to. I'm not catholic or religious, so I don't really belong in a religious school. I go to public

I go to public although I really want to go to private. I have one in mind, but its way expensive. It's $15,500 per year for high school and more expensive for elementary!! :teacher:

Public. Honestly I liked the people there alot more. The education was pretty good and you learn your street smarts there too.

Thats cheap compared to my school. The tution is around $35,000 and it goes up every year.

I go to a Catholic school and the tuition is about... 3000$. A year. I've never been in a public school, but my cousins hate theirs. I'm not catholic or christian even if I do go to a Catholic school. I like my school, but I hope St X offers a choice of religious classes or not. Religion isn't a biggie to me.

$35,000!!?? What private school do you go to?

I voted your decision. I can't vote one over the other considering I've only been in public. My vote would be biased.

I go to a Catholic HS and I really don't mind wearing the uniforms, or going there. I think it would be a big adjustment to go from public to private and vice versa, just because of the whole "mindset". At my school we don't have things that most public schools do, like bomb threats, fights, and lots of classes to choose from, but my school isn't perfect by any means. Just my opinion. If you have any questions, feel free to ask or PM me! :)

Everyone: Thanks for your advice. It might take me a while to choose but I will eventually!! Either way I am sure I will do good.
I will post my final desicion when I finally go check out all the schools.
Later!
Feel free to still talk or give me your advice from any type of school.

Um.. what's the difference between public and catholic besides that we have religon put into our studies? I don't think private schools are in the same category as catholic schools.

It's I will do well, not good. The irony! ;)
