School Vacation week April 19-26

We just got back last night. The crowds were high this past week, and the parks closed at 7 p.m., so that theory didn't really apply. The most frustrating part was waiting in line for food. We would get the food and put it on our trays, and then have to wait forever before getting to the cash register. Our choice was to go ahead and eat it while we were in line (which alot of people did) or eat cold food after we sat down.They were extremely understaffed at both parks. We would wait in line for ice cream or Dippin' Dots, only to find that they were out of most flavors, out of waffle cones, out of hot fudge, etc. My husband asked one of the cashiers what was up. She said, "Everyone thought spring break would be over by now." It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that April 5-12 is not the end of spring break. I don't know what the problem was, but it was bad enough that we probably would not return to US/IOA. I honestly hope that your week has much lighter crowds. It seems that most breaks would be over by then. Good luck.

This past week was spring break for a lot of GA schools. I know 3 different groups from my DD's school alone were there this week for competitions, so I expected it to be pretty busy. There were more people there this past week than were there over Labor Day weekend. Did you eat at the Enchanted Oak? We ate there Sunday, and it wasn't crowded there at all during lunchtime.

Seems like you didn't enjoy yourself. It's unfortunate you are thinking about not returning to US.

That's how I feel EVERYTIME I go to Disney. Talk about crowds ?

Another way to try to figure the crowd level is to go to the Universal web site and check availability at the on site resorts for your dates. The park hours are "usually" a good measure but not always.

I am hoping for a low crowd level for next week 4/23-27 but who knows.....as long as the weather is warm and the pool is wet I think we'll be happy
