Lots of mixed emotions in the house tonight. :earseek: With 2 of the 3 starting new schools, lots of nervous energy and emotions flying...for all of us, ME included!!

On the plus side of things, with everyone, including DH out of the house by 8:15, I can start DISing lots earlier!! Nothing like a cup of coffee and some fun threads to start my day off right. :cool1:

PS Dan, if you are reading this, I might need a real nice photo thread to get me through my case of nerves tomorrow!! ;) ANYTHING will be appreciated!! :teeth:

My school starts tomorrow too. I will be a sophomore in high school!! I am a bit nervous, a bit excited, a bit angry that summer is over. I am bored with summer, but I don't really want to start school. Oh well, though. Good luck to your kids!!

:goodvibes Good luck to your gang Colleen and enjoy your day!!! Matt starts pre-first at Hoover tomorrow. Hope all our kids have a great day!! :goodvibes

I have been in school for three weeks already. In fact, tomorrow classes are called off for Katrina.

Good luck to you! I am sure you will be fine! :goodvibes My kids start school on Wednesday! :)

School started for my kids today--I have one starting kindergarten, one in 7th grade, one in 10th grade and one a freshman in college. Four kids at 4 different schools!

I had some very mixed emotions. Sad to have my DD out of the house, concened about my youngest adjusting to kindergarten, happy to have a quiet house for the first time in almost 18 years. The kids will be fine--I'm the one that has to adjust! :teeth:

T&B

I started school last Friday. Why we started school on a friday?I don't know.

Our county always starts on a Friday. I think PART of it is so the kids have the weekend to get their school supplies if they wait until school starts to get a list.

Our kids also start back tomorrow.
This is later than usual ...... it has usually been around the 25th or 26th of August.
DD gets to drive to school since she is a Senior this year. DS will take the bus (he doesn't want to ride with his sister and her friends).

We started last Thursday. A brand new middle schooler & a 5th grader. My 5th grader was so distraught the night before school started. He didn't cry but he was less than thrilled. He was fine the next morning at the bus stop with his buddies. He decided 5th grade wasn't so bad because they rotate classrooms throughout the day in prep for middle school.
My oldest loves middle school. Such a relief.

Mine start tomorrow and I am absolutely dreading it!! They did away with buses this year!!! DD #1 goes to middle school and starts at 8:00 and DD#2 goes to elementary and starts at 8:15....I am suppose to start work at 8:30 and need to allow 1/2 hour to get there.

Last year if they missed the bus just a little and I had to drive them it was a mess with all the parents dropping off the kids...I can not even imagine what it is going to be like tomorrow morning!!!!

I have one starting tomorrow and the other on Wednesday. We are all sad that summer is over :(

Ours started today. DS14 was a nervous wreck last night before his first day of high school, but it went great. DD5 had a good first day of K, too. DD12 had it easiest since she was in the same school and even some of the same teachers.

Don't know about any pictures (though I still have some new ones from May), but sure do hope you have some relaxing AM's ahead, Colleen!!! :cool1:

And holy moly, Bean!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I hope that everyone that starts school tomorrow has a wonderful school year. We've been in school for almost a month, and my second graders are the sweetest group ever! I'm in heaven this year.

I'm just getting onto the boards now so you can tell how wonderful my morning has been. Being awake since 3 am with my mind racing a thousand different ways hasn't helped matters. :guilty: At this point, I'm ready to say forget the coffee...I need something stronger!! :teeth:

dvcfamily, you REALLY must live close to me...all my kids went to Hoover!! :cool1: Say HI to Mr. Stanford for me....if he gives you any trouble, just mention my name...he'll straighten up PDQ! :jumping1: They do a lot of fun things over there. I have spent the last 10 years there and the kids still like to visit their teachers. :cloud9:
