I live about half a mile from DSU and I was scared for the people at the university and outside the university. We saw News vans and even a news reporter shooting a part of the news with the dean.

I believe 110% that our generation has been overly sheltered, to the point of social retardation. Our parents make everything happy and perfect and instead of making a kid sit down and shut up, we hand them medication that zombies them out. instead of parenting and reading to kids, we shove educational videos in their faces. When they're thrown out into the REAL world where there are REAL problems the more unstable of them can't cope, and violent outbursts are what they do.

I'm in now way justifying this. I'm a pacifist, i'm non violent. I think this is horrible, but those are the reasons that I feel these things continue to happen.

what gives anyone the idea that its okay to shoot anywhere? To take a gun into a school you're already seriously screwed up past logic.

but yea, shooters are messed up... but the problem is, its not just the fault of the shooter... it also has to do with the people around them... it seems that most shooters carry out these acts because of bullying... a person can only ignore all of that BS for so long before they snap... and the thign with college is that it puts a crap load of stress on you... so thats just adding to the boiling point... hence why its starting to happen in the colleges... these things rarely happen "just because" someone is a lunatic... it developes over time


now im not trying to defend shooters in anyway.... far form it.. i think its horrible that people have to go through such tragedy in an educational environment... but im just saying that these things happen because of outside factors, so its kinda wrong to blame it all on the shooter

ah ok thanks!.. when someone said school shooting, i thought they meant a student going on a rampage, killing anyone they saw.... with only 2 people getting shot, maybe there was a grudge going on or something.. it just sounds like the victims were pre-targeted for some reason from that article

I hate it now. Are grandparents and parents never had to worry about this stuff. I heard stories about my parents getting rides from random people and nothing would happen to them, now if we do that we most likely will get hurt.Everything was a lot better in the past, like the 70s was music(I had to put that in).
