I was just going to post what you said word for word- even about convincing (my) John that we need to take a cruise! This is getting scary, Lisa! :rotfl:
Seriously, though, Connie- Have a great trip!!!

LOL!
Thanks! Ladies
both of you need to check into four day cruises; Lisa you can go out of New Orleans and April, New York... it would be great, fun get aways! Lisa, Hunter would love it and four days is just long enough to start with. You can usually find some great prices out there!

I may not be going anywhere if I don't get my body in motion and start packing....NO! I am not packed or even started....wanted to be done before I had to watch Chloe this week (only have her Thur and Fri), but, seems each time I am ready to start with luggage it is time to get the other Chloe and I CANNOT DO ANYTHING constructive when she is here....the moment I step out of her sight she goes WILD!

thanks! for the fun thoughts! was really checking in before taking the kids outside for a bit....

Woo Hoo it's right around the corner isn't it! I am just about packed for our cruise as well, and so far I have managed to stay ahead of schedule! I can't wait to hear all about your trip and compare notes on the different Carnival experiences!

Hey! I have managed to pack Ashton and Chloe yesterday. This morning I am in the process of washing the last three batches of laundry before I leave...NO LAUNDRY, tomorrow. Plan to start loading Danny and I's cases today and figure out if there is anything we need from the store....I want to bring a few diet cokes and I am sure Danny wants some cokes. I just hope their water is bearable (I have been on a water kick for several weeks/but I like it icy so I'm sure I won't be drinking much).

Tomorrow I have plans to cook all Dayne's request for the week and fill the fridge for him. My mom told him to go eat at her house; but, he said he just wanted me to cook a few dishes and he would be fine.

Glad to hear that you're making progress on packing and getting the last few details done. It's always the last minute stuff that seems to take the longest. :confused3

It's almost here, Connie. We're leaving for Markie's college graduation, so I'm sending you a Bon Voyage now...have a great trip.

Wow! How nice of you to make all his meals ahead of time! I definitely would not be able to find time for that! We finally got all packed this morning.

Just in case I don't make it back on here before we sail, Bon Voyage!! Have a great time!

Hello! everyone...

we had a wonderful, adventurous, relaxing time...I am trying to upload pictures to photobucket now (for the last two hours and I only selected about 90, good thing I did not try to upload them all  )

I can't wait to share our experience! with you guys....we are actually thinking of taking the Conquest out of NO next May to Jamacia and taking Ashton & possibly Dayne with us...might be a great graduation present for Gwendolyn!!

I'll be back later with a quick mini report and an Walt Disney update, we are in the process of trying to make some decisions for our upcoming trip; and I have a new list to add to ADR's and need to weed out a few!

I've seen the pictures that you posted on Facebook and if they are any indication of what the rest of your cruise was like, I am sure it was fantastic! I'm sure you'll start posting the mini-report while I am gone to WDW but I will catch up when I get back.

Can't wait to hear about your trip Connie! I'm loving the FB pics...they "take me back".....and I SOOOOO want to go back!

I am so sorry I have not been around more lately...I started a new diet and am trying to stay off the computer as much as I was doing....:surfweb:

Well, as many of you know Danny and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. As part of our celebration we decided to forgo our dream trip to Hawaii and do a cruise to the Eastern Carribean and a Disney trip!

On, Saturday May 14, we boarded the Carnival Triumph here in New Orleans. My parents and Ashton dropped us off around 10...we made it through check in and we were on the top deck and waving to (or trying) Ashton and my parents (we discovered Ashton is afraid of heights), they had taken him to the Riverwalk so he could see the ship and eat lunch before returning home.

If you follow me on FB, you know that I was having a really hard time with leaving Ashton fora week. We had friends that were suppose to be traveling with us and due to a family illness was unable to, with that I started with the guilt process. He told me on Wed before we left, that he was going to have fun at Nana and Pop's house and for me and his daddy to have fun on the big ship (I think alot of my guilt started when he realized we were going and he said he wanted to go on a big ship --this started when my parents went on a cruise in Dec and again in March). I was also so nervous when they decided to go to the Riverwalk, I was not OK until she called me and told me they made it home (my parents are young, but my mom is unable to walk very fast, although Ashton is really good about holding your hand and not walking off, I still worry!).

well, enough chatting let me share a few snapshots of our beautiful city...
this was just as we set sail from our balconey,
the Riverwalk (this is an indoor mall, the Hilton is located here, and a major food court (which is VERY pricey, if you eat at the actual resturants that are represented here it is ALOT cheaper)

I did not take photos as we navigated through he mouth of the river, this journey takes about 8 hours and is very interesting to see the traffic and small towns along the muddy Mississippi. As the ship makes it's way down the MS the ship has a rocking motion (not bad, very slowly as it makes it's way through the curves) around three the next morning I woke up and noticed we were no longer rocking. We had made it to BLUE waters! even in the light of the moon you could see the difference in the water from the muddy waters of the MS.

a few shots of our cabin and the ship:

this was the adult pool; our first "FUN day" at sea, I told Danny as we were exploring the ship we needed to find the "QUIET" pool, he turns to me with a grin and says "we are not at DISNEY, dear!" haha! Ok! so the adult pool!

first dress up night and Key West!

I did not take many pictures (I know, I know...) it was a time of relaxing and enjoying one another....(we often do nights out just us; but, we have not had a full week like this in YEARS...no kids, no other adults that we had to worry about (although, we did mention our friends often and missed them not being with us)...it was really a nice break! and re-connect!

We did go on an excursion! we had decided the night before to just do a DIY walking tour of Key West and save major excursions for the Bahamas...
well, that lasted as long as walking off the ship and onto the pier....as Danny was walking he passes a jet ski set up, I on the other hand was learning about a boating excursion where they showed you the island and marine life (my kinda excursion)....I could see Danny really wanted to do the jetski, so I told him to go and I would do the boat or walk around...well, it was $120 a jet ski for one or two....don't know how BUT I did go on a 2 1/2 hr tour of Key West by jet ski...needless to say this was my very first time on a jetski and although NOW I can say it was fun, don't know if I would ever do such a long ride OPEN SEA! it was very rough, and I was very scared. It was much easier on me when I was the one driving and controlling the ski (we switched off at the half way point and the guide told us it was going to get rougher. We did not bring our camera (not waterproof) and did not have time to go find a waterproof camera. So, all we have is personal memories, we were able to see rays, nurse sharks, and a giant bahamian starfish (so cool!)...what was I afraid of you ask??? not what I would fall into the water with (one of the other women riding was having an anxiety attack half way through when she realized there were sharks in the water...LOL!), I was afraid of falling off going 40-65 mph (thinking that would really be painful)
here is a shot of our tour vehicle of choice:

here is a clip of the next group, from our room as we were cleaning up getting ready to go out on a walking tour of the island (they were having some problems), you are told it is maritime law to keep 300 yards between all water vehicles...you will notice they have a problem with it!

due to our bone jarring, muscle tensing ride the day before we decided a walk through the a local market and to find a public beach to walk along would be our DIY excursion of the day!

Freeport's beach was the most beautiful of the trip! (we were very sorry we did not bring our swimsuits this day)...
we had a nice day, walking through the market place and while on the beach we ran into table mates and spent the afternoon drinking sitting in the sand getting to know one another....I really have to say this was the best day of the cruise!

next up Nassau and last dress up night!

Love the pictures. It's so neat to see other cruislines. I am wanting more and more to take more cruises...even though Disney is my first love, I'd be "willing" to try other lines as well. RC is one I would defenately like to give a try.

I love the jet ski tour! How fun. I used to won one with my ex boyfriend and we would take Michael and Paige out about every weekend on the lake. It was so fun. We had kind of tame ones, but I loved it. I do miss them, but I am probably too old and creeky for them now a days! LOL!

Great photos! It sounds like you guys had a wonderful trip!
