I had to try it on our trip in February after reading so much about it here. I got one on the last day of our trip and ate it in the Orlando airport. It tasted good at the time but thinking about it now makes me feel kinda queasy. Though it's probably due to the fact that it was our last day on the DDP and I think it took me about a week to feel hungry again!
DH and I have tried it and found it very bland. I thought it would have been very sweet and sugary but nope just a plain boston creme filling inside with coconut on top. Even the little topping was bland. Figured I give my take on it since so many people rave about it.
I love these things. They are not as sweet as you think. As a PP mentioned, the dough is a cross btw a sweet dough and bread type. Which is a nice contrast to the sweet filling and sugary top.
The filling is a cross btw custard and a cream filling. I forgot to get one one trip. How do you forget schoolbread??? but i did.
Kringola Bakery in Norway. These are soooo good! Custard filling with icing and coconut on top. Big enough for two people to split and they'll put it in a box if you ask so that you can take it back to your resort.
I did the same thing this past March. I had to try it due to all the great reviews on the board, and it didn't disappoint me at all. I took it back to the resort and ate it the next morning for breakfast. I thought it tasted like a cinnamon bun the bread part only. My DH and DD like it very much but the 2 boys didn't. They also don't like coconut. It is now a food item I must have on every trip
I have always heard people talking about it and never knew what it was. My DH asked me the other day and I told him I had been reading reviews on it lately. However, when I told him it was covered in coconut...he turned green. Neither one of us like coconut, so I guess we'll be passing on this treat.
I am definitely going to have school bread for my Illuminations treat this time around....hmmm, I wonder how that'll taste with my Grand Marnier Slushie?!

Not so sure about that combination. It tasted fine with my drink, I can't remember the name of it though. It was the other slush that's available from the same place.
