Yes, it is custardy. Vanilla custard.

Yep custardy...so yummy but very, very big! Actually the girl said in Norway they are much smaller. Split one with a friend

I'm not so keen on custardy filled things, and I only tried schoolbread because of the reviews and didn't think I'd love it, but I LOVED it!

I thought it was very similar to boston cream and was too rich for me. Especially since I ate it the next morning and the roll got a little squishy. Next trip I'm trying the cream horn.

I was ready to be disappointed, because rarely do the reviews that gush and gush really live up to the gushing. Add to that we went late, about an hour before Illuminations, and were grumpy and tired and got stuck in the SLOWEST LINE. I mean, it was agonizing, and we were grumpy. But we stuck it out...and we were glad we did! IT WAS SO GOOD! And I am not normally a custardy gal either, and I thought it was delicious.
