Scholastic book order ?

DS' teacher asked me if I would handle the Scholastic book orders for the class. Has anyone done this? Is it easy, complicated, time-consuming, etc.? Thanks!

I've done it lots of times. It's easy- just takes a little time to mark the columns and recheck your totals, money amounts, etc...

I did this last year for DS's preschool class and I'm doing it again this year. It's very easy and not too time-consuming, especially if you do it on-line at www.scholastic.com.
You can place the order and pay on-line with a credit card or you can place the order on-line and then mail them a check, which is how I do it (I always have the parents that pay by check make the checks out to me, then I just write one check for the order. I think it's easier that way). They will still put together and ship the order even if they haven't received the payment yet. I put all the shipment information in his teacher's name with the school address, so the books come to the school, then I take them home and sort them out for the teacher's to hand out.
We do 4-5 orders a school year and I probably spend 1-2 hours total on each order. This includes tallying up the orders, placing the order on-line and sorting the books when the order comes in. There are 3 classes at DS's school (60 kids) and I do the orders for all the classes. Not everyone orders every time, but we usually get an average of 20-30 orders. If it's just one class, it probably won't take you as long.
