Scholarships for senior going to college

Hello looking for scholarships my sn is a senior in high school been accepted to IU I am looking for scholarships for him. He is going into pre med then to medical school. Anyone have good advice , or where I can to look to find some. Thank you nall the info will be helpful

I would begin by pressing your child's high school guidance counselor for all available information on scholarships, apply early at IU for their merit scholarships. Another great resource will be The Ultimate Scholarship Guide by Tanabe.

My son filled out a ton of scholarship apps last year. He had the best luck from the university he chose. He received a large merit only scholarship (not based on financial need) from there. Many colleges have these but you need to look at specific schools, see if there is a separate application, and check the deadline since it is often earlier than normal applications. He had the 2nd best luck from our local area scholarships which he found out about from his guidance counselor. DS and his friends all applied for a number of scholarships on fast web and I don't think any of them got any from there.

I would love to hear on here if anyone actually was rewarded a scholarship that they found out about on fast web.

Definitely check deadlines now for your school. My son is going to a state college and the deadline for renewable scholarships is Nov. 1. You must have your ACT scores to the school and be admitted, as well as fill out a scholarship application and write an essay. We won't find out what scholarships he gets until December.
