We are shcedule to fly in tomorrow for a week and can't decide if we should go. What would all of you do?

MS has said we can cancel and get all our point back, bank them or pull point already banked if we want to reschedule, they are being very accomdating!! We probably won't be able to reschedule until next year because of work.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

If I had reservations on a flight that would get me there tomorrow I would be on it - Ivan or no Ivan - Just think from the past couple of weeks there might be some time spent in my room but that is better than being here. It doesn't seem like things are down for more that 36-48 hours and that would leave the rest of the week. It would be an adventure at the very least. Good luck no matter what you decide- Are you sure you can't change things at work so you could plan a trip sooner?

Hi!
We are flying in tomorrow, too! I have been watching the projected path of Ivan and feel it will not hit Orlando very badly as they now think it will be about 65 miles off the West coast of Florida. Here is a link:
Ivan's Projected Path
They are showing that when our plane arrives (5 pm Sunday) the center will still be south of Cuba and that is the main thing we are worried about so we are still going.
Good luck with your decision!

I too would go no matter what. (?? well almost no matter what??) Rain comes and goes all the time in Florida... granted these last 2 storms have been over the top but it looks like Ivan may only give Disney some rain, Disney does very well iwith the rain. I would maybe think twice if the eye of the storm would be passing over WDW but it's not....SO GO!!!! (I couldn't wait another year)

Have a great time and don't worry!!

I think a consideration is when you are scheduled to return. If it hits Tuesday or Wednesday, the airport could be closed until the end of the week. If you are scheduled to come home Thursday or Friday, it could be iffy on your return flight if it would turn towards Orlando. Then you would be in a situation as others posted, being stuck looking for a room over the weekend or staying and paying points.

I am flying there on Tuesday and I am going to postpone and rebook.

Charley took a hard right into Punta Gorda so you never know what IVAN will do. Plus, it's a CAT 5 and that's one mean storm.

I will play it safe and keep my family out of harms way. I am going to wait a week.

I seem to be going against the grain here, but I'd re-think going if I were you. If Orlando is hit harder than the blow Charley delivered, the main focus of Disney's attention should rightly be on the needs of their own cast members and the community, rather than on the desires of vacationers to have a good time. I know the cast members will make every effort to make you and your family comfortable and happy if you go, but if the storm is a really intense one, rather than a category 1, cast members' energy may be better spent meeting their own needs.

I would change my vacation.

Rain, wind etc - I can get that here. I go to Florida for sunshine and WDW, not to stay in my room. Why go when it's so clear that the weather will be bad and you have the opportunity to change?

The projected path diagram is the projected path of the EYE. Just the eye. The eye could be anywhere in that path and the effects of the hurricane fan out from the eye. They are still saying the eye could take a right turn over Florida like Charley - even in the reports - they say that after it goes over Cuba, the effects of the prevailing winds will be over and it will have more opportunity to turn east.
