You can also get a 6 month extension in the form of a LUV voucher by calling 1-214-792-4223 M-F 8am-5pm Central time. They can be used online but you must call before the original funds expire. They take a few weeks to come in the mail to plan ahead. :goodvibes

I hope today is the day for the new releases - I just can't stand the waiting anymore :surfweb:

Good luck to us all! :thumbsup2

Is it better to book one ways or round trip? I'm sure a ding fare will come out after I've purchased...just wondering which one is easier to credit?

I'm curious about this, too. Also, I heard that you are more likely to get searched in security if you have one way tickets.:confused3

Book one way! I learned that the hard way.:sad2:

Definately book oneway. I have done it this way my last 4 trips (I learned the hard way too :sad1: ). I have never had a problem with security. I know several people who fly 2 different airlines on each leg of a trip.

:surfweb:

Sitting here with my SW Visa and Rapid Rewards number at the ready.

sw semi-newbie here: Are you saying to book two one-way flights instead of one round trip flight so you it is easier to get credit later if one of the flight prices goes down later? Can you even do that? I hope this makes sense. :confused3

Yep, that's exactly what she's saying.:thumbsup2

You got it exactly right. I learned the hard way, since my first (or maybe second) SW I booked round trip. A Ding! came out for my going down, but not my return flight. I had to cancel the whole thing in order to rebook the $49 Ding! BUT had to pay $99 for my return.:badpc:
Luckily a Ding! came out later and I was able to get my return flight down to $69.
Fast forward..... I join the Dis :surfweb: That is when I learned to book the 2 oneways.

I'm in the 2 one-way tickets camp as well. I purchased Alaskaair Seattle to Orlando one way when a really good fare came up last week for that portion of the trip only. And, it's nonstop which we prefer.

I have some SW credits so will use that coming home. So I too am patiently sitting here waiting for today's fare release for dates past 8/24. I need Orlando to Seattle for Sep 2.

Call me stupid but time is running short.........just to clarify....If I book 2 one way tickets and then a ding comes out for either, I can simply call and change that ticket to the ding price with no penalty?????

Well Stupid......you have it almost right. :rotfl2: You can't call to get the Ding! You have to book the Ding! fares on the computer. BUT you also need to watch for internet fares as well. Sometimes they are as good as Dings!. For example, not long after SW released the summer schedule, the had the entire schedule from PHL to MCO as $49.

When rebooking for a lower rate do you get your money back or a credit against future travel?

One hour to go... (if the 10am CST is correct)

{OK - that's just wierd! It's 8:05 here but the time stamp on my post says 7:35! How is it a half hour BEHIND?}
