Does anyone happen to know the schedule for the 5th of May at WDW? I know the park hours and whatnot, but does anyone know of any other special events or schedules that might be out there?
Thanks!
Kassie
Leaving oh so soon!!!

Funny - I have been trying to find out the same information and can't - I even called Disney Guest Information and she told me nothing special was planned :headache:

I have a source that should be calling me with info tomorrow - I will let you klnow!

The only thing I've heard about that is open to the public is a ceremony of some kind at 1 pm. My press rep wouldn't give me any details, but there's something big going on at MK then.

Hi all,

The May 5 schedule for media events is as follows, straight from the press event invitation:

9:AM Premiere of Cinderellabration MK
10:30 "Vacathalon" competition MK (Main Street USA)
1:PM Global 50th Anniversary Ceremony MK

7:PM Soarin' Grand Opening Epcot.

Hope this helps!!

Bob

I made my PS for next week and the woman I spoke to was very nice. She said May 5th ALL the parks were closing earlier than scheduled because ALL the parks were having special events. She says it is going to be a mess. She was whispering on the phone when she told me this. I don't know how true it is. She said we should go to the parks in the morning and hang out at the pool or waterpark in the afternoon.

We'll see I guess .... 6 Days!! :cool1:  :cool1:

Hi WannaBe,

I think she was wrong...the event schedule has been set for a while. The only parks closing early are the Studios on May 4 and Epcot on May 5. WDW media events are always staggered so only one park is closed at a time.

Hope this helps,

Bob

Let me tell you how little people who make PS's know-

one told me that Soarin' was a temporary preview attraction and when the Celebration is over it will move to CA where it will become a permanent attraction

another told me the entire cast of Cinderellabration is Asian b/c they brought it over from tokyo -

do not trust the info they give you - what is posted on the Disney site for hours are the accurate park hours for next week

Thank goodness. I was having a little bit of a panic attack. The last time I went to Disney it was President's week 2004. I can't imagine next week will be as bad as that!!

Who cares though right? At least I will be at Disney instead of underwriting all day!

This is GREAT! Thanks for the heads up on the events. I'm thinking that the 1:00 celebration at MK will be worth seeing. Can anyone say for sure if Julie Andrews will be there? I was told when I was there in December that she would be...just curious if anyone knows...that would truly be a dream come true!

I will be at the public event at 1pm. I am sure it will be pretty exciting. Any event Disney does is amazing. I sure wish I was in the press.

I didn't hear about Julie Andrews being at the event. That would be so amazing if she was. I would love to see that. But I have a strong feeling if she will be anywhere it will be at Disneyland. Lets hope for WDW though.

Julia would FREAK out if Julie Andrews is there!! She LOVES her - not Mary Poppins - Julie Andrews!! She knows that she is Mary Poppins and the Grandma in Princess Diaries - although I agree that she is most likely to be at DL!

My inside source confirms this schedule

9:AM Premiere of Cinderellabration MK
10:30 "Vacathalon" competition MK (Main Street USA)
1:PM Global 50th Anniversary Ceremony MK
